Well, my avatar section has been a big hit (mainly cause I plug it ad nausium, but I'm slowing down on that...)
now I want to branch out...so what I want to know is...
what niche should I try to fill next? What do you want to see in a webpage, that you don't find in other webpages?

I'm locking this...as..ah heck, I'll just quote the rules:
NO SOLICITATIONS! Commercial posts are not allowed on these forums. Any such posts will be deleted, and the user will be banned without notice. If any regular contributor has something they'd like to sell or promote (by way of a commercial affiliate) they must ask the webmaster or an administrator before posting.
And just in case you don't like that:
Mailbombing, spamming, or flooding the boards with useless posts is not allowed.
Straight from the Rules (http://forums.toonzone.net/misc.php?s=&action=showrules).

...and the way I see it... neither of those apply. He's simply asking for help on what to do next with his webpage. It's not like he's trying to hawk some miracle product that will allow you to grow hair faster and read your comics faster...
...and I'd hardly call this post useless. He's looking to make his webpage better, in an effort to get the people of Toon Zone involved, perhaps make it more geared towards things people from TZ would have an interest in...
I see absolutely no reason why this thread was closed... and with that, I'll reopen it.

Well, maybe not to this particular one. But he mentions his site in almost every other post... It does get a lil aggravating.

Hey! I said I was cutting back.....I tried to only mention it once on each board, and in the avatar thread when I had a big update..........
there ARE alot of people who have avatar questions, and/or don't want to make their own avatars...so I point out my site...but I am trying to promote less, and I trimmed my sig to be less glaring with the ads...=O

Maybe a way to fix this is to put the updates in your signature. You already have the link posted in it. "I just updated the _____" in the sig is enough, I think. :)

I could do that....=O
Now, got any good ideas for my Site, before BB closes the thread for going off topic =\ ACK!

The only places I've seen him advertise his website is in his Sig... maybe I'm not looking at each and every single one of his posts, but still, it's not the point.
There are countless people who post on our forums who have links to their own personal sites in their sigs, so you will see them in all the messages they post... So, when they post something saying "How can I make my website better" are you gonna yell at each and everyone of them out and run crying to the nearest mod and complain that they are spamming and soliciting?? Of course not! If it bothers you that much, just ignore the poster...

WELL! Here are two of them...(threads) And this only took me 3 mins to find. Also, just look at the Avatar thread (old and new).

yeash, ok...you win...what do you want, for me to go purge toonzone of all of my posts which mentioned my webpage?
one of those was when I couldn't update my page, since I had recieved some questions about why it wasn't getting updated...
the other was me bored when there wasn't anyone posting, trying to be funny...didn't work, it fell of the board...
look...this thread isn't about my advertising...I said I was going to cut down on it...
now, look, you want to complain about it...fine..but not here. Email me, or email a mod...this is neither the time nor the thread for it.
I don't know what I did to piss you off, but I obviously have, and you haven't come to me with it, so why don't you?

No I'm not pissed. It takes a crap load to make me pissed. (and when I do get pissed, eveyone will be able to tell.) I'm just trying to speak my mind. I never said this thread was spam. I hinted that the other ones where. There are other posters, who shall remain nameless, who agree with me on this, but have not said anything because they don’t want to get into this spot. When you don't go on about your avatar site, you're just fine. It's only the website rants that bug me.

Um.... I really have to agree with Naraht on this one. I can see how it could get annoying, but only if you're easily aggravated. I think he was just trying to be cute, or funny, which is something I do all the time :P Maybe if he does it too often- flood the board, or gets angry and writes "no one is paying attention to me!"- there'd be a reason. Naraht has set up something that people can use. He's trying to be helpful! I really don't think it's such a big deal. If it really bothers you (and others), he certainly would have stopped at a simple request, and he said he was going to stop anyway. Or maybe you're making this request now. Ahhh, I don't know. *shrugs*
Back on topic:
I think the avatar tutorial was a good idea. It was well set-up as well, with pictures to follow and easy instructions. Maybe you could make more tutorials for various Toonzone functions?

for this post, please think of me as a regular board member. not a MOD/Admin.
I'm going to have to "side" with flash. Naraht does post about his avatars too much. I don't see why the pre-made avatars are all made up and on their own page. I see no point. When a user requests one, then make it. Don't advertise it.
I saw this post, and thought "great another one",and when I looked at it, that's exactly what it was. Another post about his website. While I know he was asking for help, you could just as easily set up a "Feedback" next to his avatars, and posted about it in the avatar thread, saying "if you have any ideas, let me know. Now, back on topic". I see no reason why this thread HAD to be created, hence, the reason it was locked.
I'm sorry if I upset anybody, but that's how I saw it. And seeing as how I obviously wasn't the ONLY one who thought this thread was "pointless", that's the reason I closed it.

Bird Boy has probably made the most avatars, for other people, on the boards to date. He hasn't bragged about it. He hasn't advertised it. He has been quiet about it. I don't see why Nar needs to plug it like he does. Set up a guest book where ppl can send you ideas on YOUR site, Nar. I never said I disliked your site. I have said I dislike the load of plugs I have to skip past while I skim the boards. I'm not trying to flame, I just want all this to come to a nice conclusion.

you know what...just delete this thread...someone...don't close it, delete the whole damn thing, since it's obvious that it's not going to get back on topic...
honestly...I hate that when ppl have problems with me, they don't PM me with them, or PM a mod to talk to me about them...
They wait till I look for feedback of an unrelated nature, and start complaining about what I've done in the past.
So lets trash this thread, since it's not going anywhere.,....

Don't delete it, or we'll keep having threads like it in the future. Don't close it either. Just get back on topic.

Obviously everything has been done before, on the internet. So, no need for any NEW pages. Just stick with that avatar thing...

Sheesh, I'm going to have to take naraht's back, cuz he's getting unjustly reamed here.
I dont know if naraht publicizes his web site too much, I've noticed the "ads" a couple times, but I didn't think he went out of his way to make people notice it. It's not like he puts it in flashing neon lights and puts up new posts each week updating us all.
He likes his web page, he likes making avatars. And he's tried to help those who dont have a clue what the heck an avatar is. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. And all he's doing here is asking for any helpful suggestions, but then winds up getting smacked up with a multitude of complaints. I don't think he's done anything to warrant this much criticism.
Incidentally, I have no suggestions at this time.
