Come on Julia, Chiropterans aren't all bad. Apart from the neck-biting and blood-sucking, they're actually pretty fun people.

I really thought the beginning was a dream Kai was having, especially since Saya was acting disturbingly happy. I was expecting them to start telling him he sucks, and then try to kill him, only to have him wake up sweating.

The ending was tense for me, since Diva really wanted Riku, and so I thought she would just swoop him up any second during the ball game. It was a pretty nice moment despite that. It's an overall okay episode, but man, that cliffhanger makes you want to see the next episode sooner.

Under normal circumstances, I'd actually be jealous of Riku. Sadly, that is not the case, and Diva really is a sociopath with superhuman abilities. Stay strong, son. :(

you know, this eppy would have been slow, if not for the early foreboding of Diva wanting 'that boy'. then i felt it was more of a wait and see while the rest of the eppy went on. for me, there wasn't really much to the story, except that you sat there, watching everyone trying to be so happy, waiting to see what Diva was going to do. of course, she shows up at the end, but still, it is like the writers were trying to make you think that it COULD have happened earlier.

ok eppisode, can't wait to see how Diva wrecks havoc on the ship.

I thought Kai's big problem at the beginning was just that he hadn't had his morning coffee yet. :anime: Also, I was freaked at hearing Saya say rise and shine; the way that scene was staged at first gave the impression that she had slept with him. :eek:

Don't they know that Van is a Diva Chevalier?

Hmm, Diva's Chevaliers give her anything she wants and never raise their voices at her. That's KEEPING her infantile and homicidally selfish; she's not getting better from the abuse she had as Joel's labrat. I don't know if the Chevaliers are doing this on purpose, or if Diva's making her Chevaliers act this way.

What good are those Red Shield soldiers if chiropterans can mow them down this easily? :sad:

Well, I dont' know about Kai and Saya (wouldn't that be robbing the cradle?), but I could have sworn that Van isn't a Chevalier, he just worked for Solomon (now Amshel). As for the rest of Diva's posse, I am unsure but I think she could whoop any one of them if she so chose, being the one who gave them their powers. And those Red Shield soldiers MIGHT be able to handle chiropterans, but no way should we expect them to handle Chevaliers.

This has a "Calm And Emotional Before The Heavy Storm" feel to it. I mean obviously the emphasis of the family dynamic stabalizing and repairing itself (or at least Kai wanting to make more of an effort in showing he's there for Riku and Saya) is only a prelude to whatever Deva's going to do to mess it up. I guess it involves going after Riku for whatever fairly unknown reason (maybe she wants to "finish him off" but probably something deeper then that). The family moments we did have though in this ep were pretty nice: Going shopping, Riku trying to get Kai to be nicer since Saya's making such an effort (Saya's already nice so her nice is just evolved without to much angst nice which is better then most female anime characters actually) and even the little baseball toss at the end. Meanwhile the "Broken Shield" refers to the attack on shield being planned thanks to Collins and his "hey I want people to know about Chorporitans so I'm going to give the enemies our secret info" strategy. Really smart move there... not. Interesting though Vaan knows Julia and that Solomon tried to warn David since he still cares about Saya. We'll probably go deeper into that the next couple of eps which I'm sure will be pretty action packed. Afterall Deva's on the boat and looking for trouble (well Riku anyway) and I have a feeling we'll be seeing the Schiff fairly soon (I could be wrong since I didn't look at any spoilers for this show. Just saying). So that will lead somewhere. Till then pretty good already mentioned calm.

well, it does sound harsh, but regardless of him being french, he is a very creepy, amoral, candy eating wierdo.
