On this date, September 13, back in 1969, Scooby-Doo, Where are You? premiered on CBS-TV and ran for a total of 17 years(7 years on CBS and 10 more years on ABC). Now, he's currently the star of Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue on Kids' WB on the CW. Over the years, Scooby met up with celebrity guests, like Tim Conway, Jonathan Winters, Don Knotts, Jerry Reed, Phyllis Diller, Sonny & Cher, Sandy Duncan, Dick Van Dyke & Don Adams as well as other cartoon characters like Batman & Robin, the Harlem Globetrotters, Speed Buggy, Laurel & Hardy, the Three Stooges, the Addams Family, Josie & the Pussycats and Jeannie & Babu. Scooby-Doo and the gang also guest starred in three episodes of Dynomutt, Dog Wonder. We also met other members of Scooby-Doo's family, including his rustic cousin Scooby-Dum, southern cousins Scooby-Dee and Dixie-Doo, wild west cousin Yabba-Doo, his hyperactive nephew Scrappy-Doo, his sister Ruby-Doo as well as his parents, Mumsy and Dada-Doo. Unfortunately for Scooby, he has had to tangle with numerous spooks as well as villains like the Disk Demon, the Chameleon, Thaddeus Blimp, Mr. Cyclops and we definitely can't leave out Batman & Robin's archenemies, Joker and Penguin(twice in 1972). We know the rest of the stories of Scooby-Doo, so on that note, may he enjoy his 38th Birthday.

Scooby Doo, Where Are You? debuted on CBS in 1968. The series was originally going to be called Mysteries 5 or Who's Scared? .
I've gone through this topic and cleaned all the offensive remarks. A couple of warnings have already been sent, don't make me send any more, please.

Well for a 266 year old Great Dane, Scooby doesn't look a day over 50...
But seriously has it been THAT long? I mean seriously how much longer can the Scooby snack market keep going? I mean how many spinoffs (including the movies (Animated and Live action) are there now? 50? 100? It's interesting to see that really the animated Scooby is 38 (266 in Dog Years) but I found out that the original Scooby is far older than that.. Try at least 40 (280 in Dog years..)
But anyway
Rappy Rirthday Rooby I mean Scooby...

I must be getting old, because I was there to see it happen. :D
The old dog has "got legs" as they say in the biz.

It is not like Scooby Doo is the only cartoon to have many spinoffs. Lots of cartoons have had many spinoffs, fellow Hanna Barbara show the Flintstones have had many, yet the Scooby Doo were more successful. It was able to be revived in the 21st century.
I guess it is the simple concept of a dog and kids solving mysteries, the reason for Scooby's staying power.
