Since Cartoon Network brought back three Scooby Doo series, I noticed some simlarities in plots in the later movies and series from the original Scooby Doo series Scooby Doo Where Are You.

I noticed that Pup Named Scooby Doo in particular has redone some Scooby Doo Where Are You plots and ideas. Might have been intentional as a tribute to the original show.

The Pup Named episode "The Sludge Monster From The Earth's Core" is a complete remake of "Jeapers It's The Creaper". The setting, the villains motvies, and the identity of the villain is the same.

As well as the Pup Named episode that aired today on Cartoon Network "For Letter Or Worse", has two elements from SDWAY episodes. The plot of a monster haunting a tv station, that was done in "Don't Mess With A Phantom", and the twist of the villain giving the gang false clues to frame someone else that was done in "Nowhere To Hyde."

So what Scooby Doo series episodes and movies have remade Scooby Doo Where Are You!! episodes?

The most recent animated movies have been basically rehashes of old episodes.

The most recent animated movies have been basically rehashes of old episodes.

One of those in particular was Scooby-Doo and the Loch Ness Monster which was sort of a redux of The Scooby-Doo Show episode "A Highland Fling with a Monstrous Thing", which itself was similar to The New Scooby-Doo Movie "The Loch Ness Mess", in which the Harlem Globetrotters guest starred. They also guest starred in "The Ghostly Creeps from the Deep" which had Redbeard the Pirate as the villain after he was already seen in SDWAY's "Go Away Ghost Ship".

I was getting ready to say that Loch Ness Mess and Highland Thing are very different, in that one takes place in Massachusetts, and the "Sea serpent" was only one part of the plot, while the other was about the actual Loch Ness Monster in Scotland, as is the new movie. I don't like the title "Loch Ness Mess" as it is misleading, and there is only one comparative reference to Loch Ness in the episode. But it just suddenly dawned on me the parallel with the glowing "human" ghost in Highland Thing with the glowing "Colonial Ghosts" that made up the pother part of the Loch Ness Mess plot.
That just shows all the more how many of the "Scooby Doo Shows" were rehashes of the older shows.

But then look at all the other modern movies that are direct ripoffs. A Hawaiian Tiki, the Snow Ghost, mummy, pirate.

It just shows there are just so many types of monsters or ghosts, so many types of settings you can use.

There are some Scooby Doo Where Are You!! that similar to earlier episodes of Scooby Doo Where Are You!!, for example "Scooby Doo And Mommy Too" took place in the same setting, and the villain was revealed to have the same job as in the first episode "What A Night For A Knight."

I do feel the shows Pup Named Scooby Doo and What's New Scooby Doo might have indentional remade old episodes of Scooby Doo. While if the Scooby Doo show or even The New Scooby Doo Movies had episodes that were smilar to episodes of earlier Scooby Doo series, was just self contenous or a coiencidence.

It seems any episodes that takes place in a museum, it is almost always the museum curerator that did it, and the crime he or she was trying to hide was counterfit art. I remember this the most because that happened in the first every Scooby Doo episode "What A Night For A Knight."
