Everyone remember to ask their parents for LOTS of money. :D Unless you're married. Then you can't get any. Suckers.

Are we speaking mandarin or cantonese or another chinese dialect here? (Here we go again...)
Chow means "bye?" I honestly don't remember that.

Again, if i'm not mistaken, i was born in the year of the rat. Or was it pig? My Vietnamese friend tells me stuff like this around this time of year and i sometimes forget.

Um..... I don't think there's a year of the goat. ;)
I don't think Chow means "Bye". Ciao in Italian means "bye" though.
Yup Optimal, you were born in the year of the rat, because I was, and we're the same age :P
So, how much cash did everyone get? :D

i'm don't really know what those phrases mean either but i say them to my my family and relatives nonetheless. i know they don't mean anything bad so i am safe there. in terms of "lai see," i think i have around $70. who else went through the tradition of the cleaning their homes and changing their bed sheets right before chinese new year's?
