Its alright for an episode or two. I don't think I will be able to sit through a five hour marathon or anything. It would get way to boring.

I had far too high of expectations for this show, only to be severely disappointed. ><

It's annoying, boring, and doesn't tend to make very much sense. I can't say that I've ever enjoyed one episode. =\

Well, I think that it is a really funny show. It is true that it doesn't make a lot of sense, but that is true for a lot of shows.

Me too. Joe Murray has done me wrong. The show is mostly boring, none of the characters are the least bit interesting, and it comes off as a SpongeBob knock-off. But, it's OK in small doses. But, if I have to choose between a marathon of this or Gym Partner, sorry Camp Kidney, but I'm going to Charles Darwin middle school for a cople of hours. :D

I like Camp Lazlo, although I agree the show can be really dumb at times and doesn't make a stitch of sense. I like Lazlo's optimism, and Raj's realism. I like Slinkman, too. And it brings back memories of my own summer camp experiences. I find it quaint at times. I really liked the movie "Where's Lazlo", I think the production team did a good job at it. Overall, I think it's a fun show. :p

I kinda wish the main characters (Lazlo, Raj and Clam) were more the focus of newer episodes, so that they can be fleshed out a little more. I feel like the writers prefer to do stories with Edward, Samson, Chip and Skip than they do anyone else.

Meh, I had high hopes for this too because I liked Rocko's Modern Life back in the day.

This show is utterly boring its humor is more of the minds of a 10 year olds or less. I couldn't sit through one episode because it was lowering my IQ to mush.

This show is more targeted to 8-10 year olds and its definately not for me. I just can't believe this was an utter let down for me, sorry.

Amen. Because of my huge appreciation for Rocko, I really wanted to enjoy Lazlo a lot more than I did. Sadly, lightning didn't strike twice.

It's like Everett Peck: from Duckman to Squirrel Boy

And Joe Murray: from Rocko's Modern Life to Camp Lazlo.

And they're both Viacom owned shows (Well, CBS Paramount Network TV owns Duckman ever since 2005 of December).

It's like I always say, you make a cult favorite back in the day and a decade later, you make a crappy show. If your show is off the air for a decade, it's better for you to call it quits for now, well until the "Stupid Age" is over.

And get this....

After 9 years when Duckman (1994-1997) ended, Squirrel Boy was created in 2006.

Same with Joe, 9 years after Rocko (1993-1996) ended, in 2005, Joe created Camp Lazlo.

Oh, I agree. It's hideous-looking and the characters are either stupid or irritating. Plus the character design makes My Gym Partner's A Monkey look good. How can a rhino, an elephant and a monkey be the same size? I realize that toon character designers are trying to be "sophisticated" and thus avoid cute and appealing-looking characters at all costs, but they've gone too far with Lazlo. A waste of time, space and...well, I was going to say "talent" here, but Joe Murray has disillusioned me. IMO CL should be euthanized immediately.

well, to some point. I like 'cartoons' with a story line instead of just individual episodes. i don't want to start the debate either, but I consider any cartoon with a chronological story line as anime.

To put it simply, the humor is really dumbed down. It's like no one can enjoy the show unless they're under the age of 9. I think that's the biggest disappointment about the show to me. Apparently they didn't anticipate older fans of Rocko tuning in (with the exception of reusing some of the Rocko VAs and that Filbert cameo).

i'd say yes to Samurai Jack. i haven't really watched Star Wars: Clone Wars so I can't really say.
I'd also say yes to Avatar.
I don't say that anime is stricly just Japanese animation.

Samurai Jack isn't a good example, as it barely has any continuity. It focuses more on individual stories.

Well, I guess the term 'anime' doesn't have an exact definition, but most people would define it as Japanese animation.

The ONLY thing I find ugly about Camp Lazlo's design is that the characters have human-shaped feet rather than regular animal paws.

Ooh, this I have to see. What ep is it in?

A show that has 3 sets of multiple characters needs to take a step back and reevaluate it's entire cast. I've noticed that they're starting to focus on 'the background characters' now when it comes to Lazlo and the crew finding other scouts to do stuff with because most of the twins are useless.

For every one funny episode there are two completely average ones, in my opinion, although the newer ones are a lot more consistent. Sometimes during episodes I hold out for crude or brutal humor that I've seen in Rockos, and almost every single time I'm let down, except for when Nurse Leslie went on vacation and Lazlo and Raj were playing with his broken legs while he was screaming in pain, that was funny.

The character designs are very nice to look at, at least for me, but the dung beetle twins aren't really the best choice to show for an example for this.

It just seems like this show has a ton of potential but it's not really interesting enough to capture any spirit.

It was in the episode where Lupus' order of the Grand Legumes comes to visit and he's worried the secret handshake got out among the campers. "Slap Happy." Filbert appears as an old turtle and the guy who runs the Grand Legumes with the same VA as the one in Rocko so I'm pretty sure it was a cameo even if they don't call him Filbert.

The show tries(at times a bit too hard) to have a spongebob-like charm. I tend to like the episodes that do not feature the Jelly Cabin characters and explore some of the unexploited background characters.

Uh, what?

As for Camp Lazlo, I've enjoyed watching it and I'm 20 years old. It just goes to show that everybody has a different sense as to what is or isn't entertaining. However, I do think it has one of the worst theme songs that I've ever heard.

You've never heard of Rocko's Modern Life????

Anyway, it's a show about a wallaby, Rocko, living in the strange O-Town with his friends Heffer (a steer) and Filburt (a turtle)

You have to check it out on Nicktoons Network if you ever get the chance. It's hilarious and no doubt one of the best Nicktoons ever.

Yeah, Jeff's a troll. I think he's a friend of Owner's from Owner's site, or he is Owner with a new account. He mentioned being friends with Owner in one of his first posts here, and he revealed to me in a PM that Owner put him up to joining here. So basically he's trolling this board in Owner's place.

Anyways, back on-topic: why are there so many multiples on Camp Lazlo? Chip and Skip, Dave and Ping-Pong and the Lemmings? WTH? Did Joe just have twins on the brain when he created this show or what?

I guess because he didn't feel like creating too many animals and decided that twins would be easier. Plus with the whole family thing, there are many episode ideas that can be use from that.

Who says they have to? The show is called Camp Lazlo for a reason. I can't image this show working any other way. It just wouldn't work. Without the camp you don't have a show.

No they aren't. The progression from the cul-de-sac to the school was a fairly logical one for Ed, Edd and Eddy; it's still "the neighborhood." To shift from camp to school for Lazlo would be a huge shift in setting, and one they aren't likely to attempt beyond a flashback/daydream or two if at all.
