I just saw a commercial and next Saturday there is going to be the first alternate version! It wasn't a lie after all! There is going to be a brand new, never before seen alien! :D

The crew probably just thought Cartoon Network would air the three versions on the 10th 11th and 12th so they said so in Comic con. Cartoon Network did screw them in that respect. Glad that the first of the alternate versions is going to air. And a new alien too sweet. Can't wait for next week.

Well, what do ya know. Looks like we'll be getting the alternate versions after all. I look forward to it.
It makes sense considering how they didn't advertise the airing of alternate versions when the first premiered.

I had forgotten that they had made some alternate versions for the movie.

At any rate, they oughta make it into a Multi-Disc Release.

That's kind of a bummer since it means the movie will be non canon.

So Dynamite Action Squad will be bringing us the premiere of Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix (Version 2). That means offically everything will be premieres next Sat. AM.

Not really. It just mean one them is canon and the rest are not.The question is which one?

True and will all the new aliens be canon or just one? Of course we will probably never see "Way Big" and the other new aliens ever again anyway so that does not really matter.

I think in terms of which being canon is unimportant. The movie will still have the same plot and outcome.
And there's still a chance that Waybig will appear in a later episode. There's nothing that's going to rule out that possibility.

I doubt that Waybig will appear again. When would Ben NOT use it? Of course, any other aliens that appear in the alternate version will most likely have to be really powerful, too, so I would bet that none of them ever appear again.

Which will be then?

Maybe Ben will become that blob thingy, and say "Aw, man! I'm a blob?!"

So..., Are we being tricked into increasing ratings?

So..., Are we being tricked into increasing ratings?
Yes. The Network could have aired these films for the entire weekend, but its programmers probably thought that they could get more ratings over a larger period of weeks rather than having one good ratings weekend.
I would prefer that the all three versions of the film air in the same weekend, giving some credit to the fans, but, instead, we are getting a repeat of the Re-animated money giveaway: "Hey, tune in for something different but still mostly the same!" I know this is business, but it sucks for the consumer.

So I saw that this movie is on the schedule again. I've seen the original and "alien" versions -- any chance that this is yet another version? I had heard that there were going to be three versions of the film. I don't watch a lot of Cartoon Network these days so I wouldn't see adverts if they have been running any.
You know, as marketing gimmicks go, Cartoon Network really blew it with this alternate version stuff. Instead of replacing one scene, they should have done two or three. Then they could have shown them in different combinations and claimed that each one was "different".
Okay, yeah, it's a cheap ratings stunt. But I'll probably watch it.

As far as we know, there's a third version somewhere. Unless they decide to air it to promote the live-action movie, we'll probably have to wait for the DVD.

Cartoon Network showed the third version during the latest re-run of the movie. I haven't had a chance to sit down and view the whole thing yet (via TiVo) but the beginning scene is different:
The original version had Ben as Heatblast in the opening battle with Dr. Animo. In the "alternate alien" version, Ben was EyeGuy for that battle. In the third version, Ben appears as XLR8 in the same battle.
I doubt there are any other changes but I'm still planning on watching the rest when I have more time. So far, the original version is still my favorite.
Oh yeah, and Cartoon Network advertised that there would be a "new, never before seen alien" prior to running the third version. Probably just advertising hype, though.

At least it's something a little different. I am so tired of all the repeats. Seeing the same cartoons over and over again just doesn't appeal to me the way it used to. This gives me something to look forward to.
