My son and I just watched the new Super Friends Legendary Super Powers team. I used to watch the show as a kid when they first aired. While they are still enjoyable. After watching JLU its just doesn't compare. Everything from the story to the animation is just so much better than the Super Friends. I remember as kid thinking the Super Friends Darksied was the ultimate bad guy. But, the JLU Darksied would give the Super Friends Darksied a butt-whooping for being so ridiculous. :D

I'm looking forward to viewing these episodes when i get the DVD imported, however i often find that, despite my interest in the characters i'm frequently bored watching the episodes at times:sad:

Being born in 1990 i quite clearly grew up in a good time period for cartoons:D, from B:TAS to Justice League: unlimited. As a result these cartoons just seem flat to me no matter how hard i try to get into them.

For example, i recently viewed the new adventures of batman and while toleratable, perhaps because of Adam and Burt, it clearly wasn't my Batman. I just ended up craving a bit of kevin Conroy to leave the drawings mouth:p

Looking back, i guess people around my age got a pretty good deal with it came to their cartoons on a Saturday morning

Yeah, Wonder Woman obsessed Darkseid was a bit ridiculous, but it was still a more solid series than previous seasons.

In the next season, six out of the eight Superpowers Team episodes were great. The two episodes that had 10 minute adventures weren't that great, although 'The Bizarro Superpowers Team' was weird fun that brought back memories of the earlier seasons.

I still have to buy the DVD. I already own both The Superfriends(1978, with Zan & Jayna) and Filmation's The New Adventures of Batman from 1977. I went to Best Buy to look for Superfriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show on DVD, but appearantly hasn't arrived there. I'll look for that DVD at other video stores sometime next week.
