Since I didn't see one, here's the talkback for the marathon that's today from 12 pm-7pm on Saturday and 6 am to 10 pm on Sunday.

I like the fact that they are airing the marathon with limited commercials. For example: instead of airing 14 episodes today (12-7PM) there will be 17 episodes in the same time period. And tomorrow instead of 32 episodes (6A-10P) it's 37 episodes in the same time period.
Nice! :)

Oh god... this brings back such wonderful memories. My grandma and I used to sit down for hours and watch Scooby-Doo over and over and over again.
I always wondered what would happen if the bad guy actually caught one of them though.

Man, every single episode of the original Scooby-Doo series in one weekend, and two airings of each episode at that....
A few years ago, we would've been complaining like crazy about something like this. But honestly, I don't quite mind it.
I'll start recording it tomorrow, when the marathon gets back to episode 1. :D

I remember watching these episodes countless times on Kids' WB! weekdays.
That version was kind of messed up, though. They would have little bubbles pop up throughout the show and have countdowns for villian unmaskings. Or they would have random viewer comments such as "If Scooby-Doo was a Pokemon, he'd be a Houndour." Seriously, WTF was up with that?

Ah, it's so good to see the original Scooby Doo series in Cartoon Network again! It brings back so many memories, and I think it's great they're airing all the episodes of the series too.

I only watched about 3 episodes today, then went to the pool for an hour and left the TV on it until the marathon was over. Hopefully that will help things.
I don't think I've seen an episode of "Where Are You?" since it was last seen on CN. Honestly I've never been much of a fan of the series, but watching an episode or two brings back memories of checking it out occasionally.

I think I see Cartoon Network's plan. Fill up the network so much with a single type of animation that viewers will become absolutely sick of it and want something different, then show them that something different in a cheap manner.
Not too long ago, sometime between the release of the Zombie Island movie and the What's New? series, I remember CN being absolutely saturated with Scooby Doo. He was on every day for at least an hour at a time. I grew sick of Scooby and welcomed new animation with open arms.
Now I'm sick with CN's current shows. All quality issues aside, they show far too little over a far too long period of time. Along comes Scooby, a show I used to hate, but because it's so different from what I've been watching for the past few years, I actually enjoyed it. This is the most I've watched CN in months.

And the reason behind the marathon is revealed:
A new Scooby-Doo movie will have its world premiere on CN, August 31 at 7 p.m, which will kick of Fried Dynamite. It's called Chill Out Scooby-Doo! for those interested.
I knew CN wouldn't do this out of the goodness of their hearts...:p

The original version was the best. And I prefer the 2002 - 05 as my second favorite version because it most resembles the original version, than all of the mid to late 70's and 80's versions, with celebirty guests, Scrabby Doo, the absence of Fred, Daphine, and Velma, etc.
Is it just me, or does Scooby Doo get a bad rap with the laugh tracks, there are quite a few parodies about those laugh tracks with Scooby Doo, The Flinstones for example had laugh tracks and no one makes fun for them for having laugh tracks.
They should have advertised this as a Scrappy Doo free Scobby Doo marathon, really promote the fact that Scobby's nephew is not in this marathon.

Well, at least this beats the "Naruto Hundo" Marathon coming August 17. *shudders*

I watched a little this morning, and it's still decent, like I remembered, although the animation has aged really badly.

This is the first time Scooby Doo, Where Are You? has been on Cartoon Network in years, and it's only just resurfaced on Boomerang. Oh, the memories.
For those of you who are interested and didn't read about it, a while back Cartoon Brew posted a link to a quiz where they give you ten stories and ask you if it was an actual newspaper headline or the plot of a Scooby Doo episode.

I scored 9 out of 10 myself, only because one of them was from the What's New series.

10 out of 10. Guess Kids' WB! made me an expert in Scooby-Doo-ness...

I really liked What's New Scooby-Doo as well. I really don't get why people complained about it so much...I thought it reflected the original series rather well.

I do also have a soft spot for A Pup Named Scooby Doo, number 3 favorite behind Scooby Doo Where Are You! and What's New Scooby Doo, because it is a good change of pace to see Fred, Daphine, and Velma being funny in their own rights, instead of just being straight characters setting up for Scooby and Shaggy to say or do something funny.
Though I conisder it non canon from the Scooby Doo franchise.

I got 9 out of 10. The one I got wrong I would instantly realized was a New Scooby Doo Show episode. I remembered it but it was in the back of my head. I used to watch ALOT of it as a kid. The old I always will like because it was the original. Originals are almost always the best.

Speaking of quizes, ever watch episodes for the first time, or not seen in a long enough time not to remember the endings, and while the gang meets human characters, try to guess who is going to the monster or ghost at the end.
If you have, what is your record of guessing correctly?
I think the What's New Scooby Doo series and the direct to DVD movies of the last few years the more challenge ones, the writers like to put more twists into who the villain(s) will turn out to be, while the classic Scooby series was a bit more obvious of who the ghost or monster was.
For example in Scooby Doo And The Moster Of Mexico, when Luis had that bump on his head and conventely was not around when Chupabca arrived, I thought for sure he was the monster.

SLIGHTLY OT- Why was the Hanna-Barbera logo the action version and not the comedy version?

Good question. I've always wondered myself.
And goodbye Scooby and the gang, until your good series come on again!

It did fine on Saturday(and keep in mind, the marathon didn't take up the whole day). It did much better on Sunday, increasing the 2-11 and 6-11 groups. 9-14 years didn't care for the marathon much, though.
