View Full Version : Rocky & Bullwinkle *ANYWHERE* on TV?
Does anyone know if the show is being broadcast on TV *ANYWHERE* in the world? This includes cable, satellite and local stations. Google doesn't turn up anything. I need specifics where possible, and not where it used to be (ie, Boomerang).

Nope, not in the United States at least. Teletoon might have it in Canada. Boomerang really does need to start showing more classic cartoons like they did a couple years ago.

I wish. Teletoon hardly shows ANY classic shows. At least in the states you guys have Boomerang, which shows SOME... Teletoon's been promising a Canadian version of Boomerang for a couple of years now, and it was supposed to debut this spring.

I'd be surprised if it wasn't airing on a broadcast network or two across the United States.

Assume you mean a broadcast TV *station* or two... no network in the US carries the show...

Rocky and Bullwinkle does air on the Saturday Morning TV station on Joost. SMTV also has The Mr Magoo Show, Felix the Cat, and Harveytoons on it. I've also seen generation 1 of the Transformers available.

The program is still in beta and you need an invite to download it, so if anyone needs an invite, pm me with an email addy to send it to :)

Since I was in Montreal, Canada on vacation in July 2007. Teletoon doesn't carry Rocky and Bullwinkle currently. But did YTV carry Rocky and Bullwinkle in Canada as well?

I'm sure it's airing *somewhere* in the U.S., it's just in the early hours of the morning. In Indiana it was airing up until about three or so years ago in the 6:00 a.m. slot (The last of the non DIC block shows to roam freely here)

Yes, that's what I meant.

I recall it airing on WUTV (Buffalo NY) for awhile around 7am, but Inspector Gadget is now in its place.

It (along with other "Program Exchange" cartoons) was airing on the now-defunct "Black Family Channel" network (a niche digital tier channel) in the U.S. However, the prints were without a doubt the WORST I've ever seen of R&K. They looked like a 2nd-gen copy of a public domain VHS tape. And the R&K prints aired on CN and Boomerang were already pretty crappy to begin with, these were worse!
The channel was recently canned and re-launched as "Gospel TV" or something like that, with no children's programming whatsoever.
How does the whole "bartering" thing with Program Exchange work again? And don't they have "The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest" under their wing or at one point? That would maybe explain why after 11 years since premiering it has yet to air on the U.S Boomerang. I've read it was syndicated after being canned from CN, but I don't know if that's true.

You know, I'd be surprised Program Exchange even still does stuff with their animated shows. The syndication market for cartoons is completely dead now outside of DiC shows.
Edit: Oh wait, nevermind, I recall that my local CW network still airs Carmen Sandiego, which is technically Program Exchange, even though it's made by DiC.

I just emailed them through their site to ask about their animated programs coincidentally. I would really love to watch Tex Avery again, as well as Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Sorry for the double post, but I got a response from The Program Exchange and I got the following reply in terms of what airs in NY:
"None of our animated shows are currently airing on broadcast stations in NY. You may find some on Cartoon Network or Univision (in Spanish) but nothing else at this time."

That message sounds outdated since Rocky and Bullwinkle stopped airing on Cartoon Network 6 years ago.

Sorry for the double post, but for those wondering what prints Joost is showing aren't the Program Exchange syndicated prints, but those from the DVD boxsets.
