I'm not surprised. This one is much easier to release because each episode consists of either Chipmunk originals (and Witch Doctor), or public domain songs.

By contrast, the 1980's series is virtually next to impossible to release (and you all know why).

Why? Some of us don't know.

Music rights would cost them too much money to release the show.Same problem with the muppet babies

Er...not exactly.

Muppet Babies is held back because of all the video clips. They never sang things lifted from the Top 40.

Alvin and the Chipmunks did, but since they were only cover songs it should be cheaper. Kinda disappointed here....The Alvin Show, while probably better, wasn't the one I watched as a squirt.

52 episodes (give or take) with 2 covers per episode. I don't know if WB would be willing to pay for 104 songs, covers or not.

The Dic episodes and the Chipmunks go to the Movies would be easier to release since those episodes featured original songs.

The 1961 Alvin Show Chipmunk songs were mostly kiddie leaning or public domain or sing along style songs!

I was referring to the 80's Ruby Spears episodes.

You know, I did a search and... the ONLY website that states this show is getting released is Wikipedia. I hardly consider that to be reliable in this particular subject, so until an official announcement is made this topic is closed.
