I have a few questions about HB myself:

Did the Hanna Barbera Studio ever have inbetweens?

Did the animators have assistants in the first few years of the studio?

I have had the same question. Some of the individual H-B animator styles are easily recognizeable. My understanding is, the animators were paid by the foot of film produced. Does this mean they produced the "key" drawings for a given foot of film with an inbetweener filling in the gaps or did the animator do the full 8 or so drawings / ft of film.?? (16 frames per foot, with most drawings shot on "two's").

The one and only time I visited the H-B studio in 1984, I was given a short tour by ART SCOTT. I mentioned that I was able to recognize some individual animator styles and thus assumed that the one animator did all of the work on a particular cartoon that was entirely one style. The response was "oh, no. One animator does not do the whole cartoon". I was a bit surprised, but due to time constraints, I moved on to other questions.

To me the question has not been fully answered. Does anybody else out there know??
