Yet Another Prying Poll into People's Personal....stuff.
Anyway, how do you connect to the internet?
I'm making the poll multiple choice in case you (like me) have more than one way to connect (home - Cable Modem, Work - LAN)

Well, on the house computer, I connect via a cable modem, which I absolutely love... *drool*
...on my mom's computer, which I've been subject to use quite a bit, we connect via modem...primitive, yet effective... =X

I'm on a LAN connection at school. Sweet ethernet...
Unfortunately, the network goes down from time to time. Like this past week. Didn't anybody miss me when I couldn't post for that whole day? ;)
The school has completely spoiled me with this connection. There's no way I can go back to modem when I get outta here. When I visit home, I have to use my parents' 56K, which is both slow and disconnects way too much. That's no good.
I only use the internet at home, and am using a cable connection. However, my sister set up a basic LAN so that all three computers in the house (her's, Dad's, and mine) can share the connection.

I'm using a DSL for some reason.
My prayers are with all the AOL users.
Gosh, I'm so glad that I don't have to deal with AOL anymore.

Nah...a really personal prying poll would sound more like "which do you prefer? Boxers or briefs? Or are you a panty person?" Heh....but...then again....sorry. :p

I have DSL, and, in case Verizon decides to mess with my head again, my old dial-up to bellatlantic.net.

I have AOL, but I don't have to go through any websites before going where I want to.

My family uses a local provider. We use Warwick Online.

*has slow 56.6. kpbs connection*
*modem connects at 28.8 always; is angry about that*
*wants cable modem; cannot afford it; angry about that too*
:D
That sums up my internet life. I did have AOL at one point but I finally got off it and onto MSN (thank God! ).

I'm unfortunately stuck with AO-Hell. BUT, since my dad works for GM, we get it for a paltry $3 a month!
That almost makes it worth the money we pay for it.
Almost.

Talk about going from the fire to the frying pan.
Sorry, I'm just not a big fan of Online Services....their "content" is laughable, and while they may be "easier to use" actually using the internet with your own programs is a pain in the butt.
I feel for you...Cable Modems are great....when they're up. Stupid Excite Bankruptcy.
