The previous arc was about entering the soul society and figuring out where all she was at, this one is about the 'rescue' aspect and onward.

When Yoruichi hopped onto the roof and shouted to wait for three days so Ichigo can become more powerful, I was like "Yay... training episodes". But the next episode preview gave me hope that it's all not training we're gonna see.

I'm actually quite surprised how easily Ichigo just gave up that argument with Yoruichi. With his whole reason being there was to rescue Rukia, you'd think he wouldn't give that much a damn about fighting what's-his-face. Though, at the scene where she yammered on about him being the only one to defeat the guy, he really just gave into it. I dunno, that whole moment totally took me out of the rest of the episode. Everything before that was entertaining, however.

As for the episode, the first ten minutes were pretty good. Kinda went downhill from there. Orihime and Uryu come back...and do almost nothing. Though it looks like that'll change next week.

Wow, we got a lot of callbacks of ignored plotlines till now in this episode. First finally seeing what happened to Renji after his fight with Ichigo. Apparently despite his Zanpaktu's eagrness, he's not after Ichigo and after someone else. Don't know who exactly but I think it's pretty obvious who at least it will involve. We also (for all of you who were complaining about it) the return of Orohimie and Uryu, who turned out were in Soul Reaper disguise this entire time. They had a nice selection of funny scenes; Orihimie knocking out the two guards and commenting on how training with her friend made her "yellow belt" level (obvious BS. I mean even if they were two generic guards taking out ANYONE that fast at yellow belt level is impossible), Uryu having to change in the changing room instead of her and trying to decide which squad they should say they're from. Speaking of Squads finally good to see another appearence of the 12th captain . Been awhile since we've heard from him on anything so good to see that change. Of course the other focus of this ep was on thing from last time: Yoruichi knocking out Ichigo and taking him away from Kuitchi in order to train in him the second level of the Zanpaktu (that's a definite DBZ comparision if I ever saw one) was interesting. And I guess the rescue will have to wait with Ruika back in her cell and Gantu and Yamada in questioning/recovery by the 13th squad. Lot of interesting stuff happening now. Can't wait to see more next week which seems to be focusing on Orihimie/Uryu which should be good.

The scene with Renji and Zabimaru (Renji's one of my favorite Bleach characters)...

Ukitake explaining why he didn't kill Hanataro and Co. (Ukitake's another fave of mine)

Kiyone and Sentaro's argument....those two are amusing...

Finally finding out where Uryu and Orihime are.....and it seems Mayuri's persuing them (I don't know about everyone else,but I find him really creepy,for reasons that anime-only viewers should find out soon...he's up there with Byakuya as my least favorite Bleach characters)...

I don't know about the Japanese levels, but in the American system, yellow belt is the lowest earned rank for anyone above age 13. Orhime is saying she was <I>almost</I> at yellow, meaning she had actually earned no rank at all. Which explains wossname's reaction.

But, in Dragonball Z they didn't continuously go back for more training. I mean, Goku trained with King Kai during the Saiyan saga. He trained on his ship during the Freeza saga, and he trained in the room of spirit and time in the Cell saga. He also trained waiting for the androids to arrive though. So, that's a maximum of two training sessions per saga. It's not like he continuously needs to go through more training during a saga.
