I still say a better two part season finale would of been having Harvey have to defend Space Ghost and try to connect Coast to Coast with Attorney at Law but apparently The Harvey team wouldn't want to do that. I suppose though this is a decent alternative: Harvey having to go on Jury duty after finding out that one of the jurors is the same and then Mentok realizing all of them are the same at the end and having to redo every trial. From what I hear that plotline continues and gets somewhat interesting. Still though, the usual hyper fast pace gagline birdman has had seems to have stilted some in this ep. Then again with things winding down and the six years it took to play Harvey over guess it was bound to happen. There were some funny scenes: Harvey finding out he has jury duty, Potamus thinking he's getting sexual harassed, Judy's propsed wardrobe change, Harvey being cloned, the deadly duplicator cloning Harvey's money after finding out the price of a chimachunga, clone Harvey asking regular Harvey about

I will say this had some of the best acting ever from Lewis Black as The Deadly Duplicator.

They let all the "Guilties" Out

I Agree Lewis Black was Great but the Jury thing was stupid did we need to wait for months for that

About time he learned he had the same jury in each episode.

Nice and retrospective. Nice and retroactive.

It's been a while since I've seen Birdman but I enjoyed seeing it again. I really liked the scene where Birdman's clone is sitting in the jury deliberation room and hears all the jokes they tell about Birdman, and then joins in on the fun.

The sexual harassment subplot was pretty good, too. Birdgirl offers a different yet funny alternative to Phil, and I liked the scene where Peter Potamus gets tempted to say more double entendres as numerous sexual things pop out of nowhere.

The main plot with Harvey was good. The sub-plot with Pottamus and Birdgirl had a few good gags but was otherwise fairly weak.

Pottamus and Birdgirl aren't strong enough characters to carry a plot by themselves. In fact, Pottamus has started to just flat out annoy me. He's a one-note character. The ONLY reason he's become a major character is because they lost two of their best characters (One of which was THE best character).

I wish they had just done the series finale when Colbert was still with the show. These last few episodes without him really make it clear just how big a part of the show Phil and Reducto were.

But then it's not even so much that, I suppose. I think it's possible to write a good episode without those characters. I think that at this point the show is just running on empty. The creators know that it's over and these last few episodes are basically just filler to get to the ending.

Those sort of thing happens with most shows when they get towards the end of their run. A recent example is King Of Queens. When the last episodes were airing a while back, you could feel that they didn't care anymore. The episodes were funny but were just lacking the spark they once had. The actors were phoning in their parts. Everybody on the show had already checked out. And that's part of why the last episode of the show sucked so much.

But back to Birdman, that same thing is happening here. The quality of the show has gone downhill because the episodes feel like phoned in filler to get to the end. Like I said, Colbert's absence is a big part of why these episodes are sub-par. Colbert was such a huge part of the show that it was a real crushing blow, in my opinion. But it's not just that, it's that they just kind of aren't trying anymore.

But I'm not saying these episodes are bad or anything. There's lots of funny gags. I laughed during it. But something's just off about them. The feeling is gone. It's just going through the motions at this point. Same thing with King Of Queens. I quite enjoyed a lot of that show's last episodes. But it was obvious the show was just about over.

I liked it. A lot.

It's good to have old new Harvey back, even if it's for two weeks and this is the end. The Potamus-vs-Birdgirl bit was fun, but the real joy came out of Harvey's jury duty bit and finding out what everyone thinks of him. Oh, and that all his cases don't count since they all had the same 12 jurors. That was hilarious.

"Harvey Birdman, Juror in Court": 4.5/5.
