I've always been a huge fan of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
From the early days of the toys to of course the Filmation cartoon. I still say that the Prince Adam transformation into He-Man is one of the coolest (what we call in Japanese superhero fantasy fandom) henshin sequences of all time.
Like many of the 80's shows the concepts were really wild and cool superhero ideas that just couldn't quite be realized in full. Hell when I look at alot of the characters in He-Man I'm instantly reminded of Jack Kirbys New Gods.
Its just fun. Its Conan, Flash Gordon, and Superman all rolled into a cool mix.
The designs from the new toyline have been intresting yet I havent like He-Man himself in this new version that much. Mainly because his face just looks way too Liefeldian. Please dont give us eXXtreme He-Man.
Anyway, I hope this cartoon rocks.
Any chance of getting John Erwin back to do the voice? :D

Looking forward to the special ever since I heard about it a couple months ago. I think the new toy line is the nicest since Super Powers.

For me, the He-Man transformation sequence is THE coolest sequence I've ever seen, with She-Ra's following second. :p I"m definitely looking forward to this special and have been following it's progress since last year. I doubt John Erwin will back. I heard he was "all He-Maned out." He did a great job though, and I would be thrilled if he voiced the most powerful man in the universe again.
Me, I'm just expecting for something decent and true to the original series and concept of He-Man. I'm not looking for an out of this world plot, but one that follows consistantly. I'm very curious about how the music will be done though. The original He-Man theme and music is very much a part of He-Man as the powers of Grayskull itself. Heh, I think I'll feel weird if I hear a new theme played, but if it works with the atmosphere and design of the new series, fine with me. Maybe there will be no theme whatsoever. :p But it would really be cool if they had something of the old theme in there, like how the Four Horsemen revamped the new toyline at the same time keeping the essence of the original design intact. :)

Oh my gosh. I haven't seen He-Man since it got cancelled sometime in 1986. I remember being hooked to it before my last niece was born (6-09-85). Oh yes, the eighties.
Did I tell you I still have my car since it was brand new of Jan 28, 1986? Yep. And it's still kickin'.

Just a long as it's true to the original, minus the cheese. (Nothing like seeing a cartoon from your childhood and seeing how goofy the show was).
Also, they have to stay away from the remake of He-Man that was horrible and no one liked it.... Hell, I've only read about it because it was gone before I even knew about it!

Welcome PHOENIXZERO! I, too, am looking forward to the new remake. Hopefully, Cartoon Network picks it up as a new series, instead of just a special. We'll know shortly.

Heh, thanks this is my first time seeing these forums.... I just joined to reply to this.....
Hopefully though CTN can get the rights to show the original and then later add She-Ra, heh...
*Wishes he could have written a new He-Man series*
