The title says it all. Apparently, their reason for not going is this video (http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a25c392138c678401138d9a9fe50011) from the '06 festivities. It's also getting the plug from the homepage (http://www.adultswim.com/index2.html), where the no-sound flash video gave it top billing (as of 7/4/07).

Looks like LivingFruitVirus will have to figure out what to do for his yearly contribution to ASF (http://asfdotcom.net/features/) now that Comic-Con is out of the picture (in terms of Adult Swim content).

Yeah, that video was...WTF. There's no better way to describe it.

Still, there must be another motive for not going to Comic-Con, unless they got banned for misbehavior or something like that. Although, it's not like it's a big loss or anything. A lot of stuff was announced during AS's upfront and I'm sure any other big announcements will come in press releases from Turner.

So, they're not going to Comic-Con because Dino Stimawhatshisname was drunk?

Wasn't that the same con where Tim and Eric got booed and heckled to the point where Seth Green had to tell the audience to shut up?

Good con all around for them if that was the case, and I can see somewhat why they wouldn't go back.

He snuck vodka into the panel and poured it into one of the water pitchers. Who knows if that got them in trouble with the convention center, but I wouldn't be surprised. The staff of that building is more tightassed than ever. I was pulled out of my seat from the Lucasarts panel last year by some **** security guard because he thought I was taking videos when I wasn't.

Not this con. Last year Tim dressed as the incredible Hulk and the audience sang along with the theme song.

Sucks that AS won't be coming this year, but that means I'll have a chance to do another panel.

One thing that annoys me about Comic-Con is some of the panels that are R-rated in content or just end up that way have no age limits for entrance. It really wouldn't be that hard to say "no kids under 14" or something for panels such as this one.

For those who want more information about what happened behind the scenes with the Dino thing, buy the Moral Orel DVD and listen to the half-hour commentary on the event. Actually, there are two, one from Dino, Jay, and some others involved, and another from the Venture Bros. guys. It's definitely an interesting situation.

So that whole thing was a stunt to sell DVDs?

Ok, I have my doubts that panel is why they aren't going back (I've seen worse antics at cons  ). What's weird about this is that AS has been promoting Metalocalypse Toys at Comic Con on the board and I was under the impression they were going as of last week (can't remember what I read that made me think that, however).

My guess would be either SDCC bumped them from the schedule/room they wanted for something/someone else (and they figured why go if they couldn't get what they wanted) or Adult Swim pulled out for other reasons (maybe the same reason they've had a lack of new shows this year?). Still, SDCC has become fairly important as a industry gathering that skipping out of that con is rather surprising to me and I'd like to know more about the real reasons for it.
