I sense a new arc is going start soon, probably in the next episode.

Last time: Uh...I don't remember much, I fell asleep. I don't think it had anything to do with monsters, swords or bad accents.
I have days like that when I can't solve a crossword.
Slow news day, huh?
The secret word is OMORO.
Oh what sad times these are when snooty lovestruck high school girls say "PERVERT" at will to newspaper reporters.
Five bucks says she disappears by the end of the episode.
So everything associated with the French is evil. I'd say this show was made with a cliche American mindset if the US Military wasn't involved.
Take a teenage manifestation of Ai from Shin-Chan along or face the yakuza. Tough call.

God, I love Mao's confrontational personality. Threatening the news reporter by ripping off his manhood. Excellent.
Who does Mao's voice?

Wow, for a filler this episode was interesting. 9 more episodes till it really kicks in.
I have to say that I'm starting to warm up the new OP, though the new ED definitely needs work. Ack..

Olivia Hack. I'm sure most people would be know her as Ty Lee of Avatar. Quiet a difference of character betwen Mao and Ty Lee but hey shows you Olivia's a pretty good VA.
This was a pretty bleh episode. Bleh opening, bleh scenes with the reporter (who still really dosen't interest me at all), but things did sort of pick up in the second act with Mao and Karou talking and Mao getting the reporter to take her to France with him to chase down Kai. Yeah it did seem kind of b****ish of her (espically taking away his smokes) but guess that's her character. Dosen't really make up for how most of this ep (espically the dull as dirt first act) failed to capture my interest but still at least we end this little intrlude part hopefully and get into a more interesting next arc.

Dude, I love Mao. She threatens guys like I do.Telling him that she would make sure he never had kids is awesome.
And the reporter really needs to stop smoking before he get a blacklung.
I didn't even mind that there wasn't any action. That girl and her new middle-aged sidekick made it interesting enough for me.

Geez, the journalist does suck at investigating. He didn't even bother to try to take a peek inside the bar, where pictures of the family were out in the open. The first half of the episode was okay, but it really did pick up when him and Mao clashed with each other. And with Jamaican Man constantly looming in the background, I kept thinking he was gonna do something to the reporter.

You really shouldn't threaten people.
Why on earth did she call him a pants dropper? What the hell did he do to her?

Yeah, the blonde guy did tell him to take care of the reporter in the last episode. I wasn't sure how dirty these guys played so I thought that he was going to kill him. I'm glad he didn't though. It would be hard to root for these guys if they kill innocent people.

Your "sister" is an inhuman monster and the girl that has a crush on you is a Mafia Princess: wow, talk about f'd-up luck.

I can think of some benifts to having a Mafia Princess as a girl friend  but, of course, some downsides as well.
Mao just said what she said to scare the reporter away. Weren't you ever told to not talk to strangers?

Because he looked like an old pevert out to get some little girls or something. (despite the fact that he is a nice man who just wants a story) With Mao's attitude, she's one to quickly judge and then take her stance. If somebody like him who was smoking, tired, and deperatly listening in on a conversation came sauntering towards two random young women one day out of blue, what else would you think?

Okay, but despite what he may look like, I think that's taking it a bit too far. There was no need to pick him up by the collar and yell in his face. She could've easily walked away and ignored him.

I thought he was going to do something too. By the way, did anyone else think that this scene with him was a bit disturbing?

It felt like the writers were trying to imply lolicon, except with a 30-year old man. *shudders in disgust*
But besides those things, I thought this episode was entertaining. The reporter finally gets to do something and the team up with Mao will be interesting enough, I suppose. Hopefully, they'll play a bigger role in the next arc.
And after watching the opening again, I think my main problem with it is that it's too slow and dreary. While it works for some shows, like Trinity Blood, I think Blood+ needs a more action-based and faster-paced opening.

When your a 16 year old brat who has a van full of mobsters willing to back you up, your ego tends to explode.

True enough. Although FYI, Mao is actually 18 years old. I guess that would just further add to her big ego, since she's technically an adult.

She's 18? But she's still in highschool, or maybe she's a senior? I always figured Mao was alot younger.

Well, let's see...George is 59, Kai is 18, and Riku is 13 (Saya is kind of a strange case, as you can imagine). So yeah, Kai and Mao are probably seniors.

Do the writers ever have any moments where they ask themselves, "Maybe we're getting TOO ridiculous?"...
The problem with the reporter arc is the reporter so far has no significance at all in the main plotline. He could be completely cut out and the plot could still move on undamaged.
We've had vampires, U.S. Military conspiracies, secret vigilante societies, French connections. Now we have the Yakuza, too? Say, girlie, maybe the reason Kai DOESN'T want to get involved with you might be because you're a Yakuza princess....
