Meet Elwood,

A 2 year old Crested Chinese/Chihuahua mix, and in fact he was voted this year's winner of the annual World's Ugliest Dog Competition that is held annually at the Marin-Sonoma County Fair in Petaluma, California.

Now Elwood like I said is a hybrid between a chinese crested dog breed (which sports a doggie mowhawk and that big wagging tongue of theirs, and the standard Chihuahua, which are small and yet bug-eyed, but a few folks call Elwood, "Yoda" or "ET" as he does remember in a way these fictional characters. But then of course they say 'Beauty is in the Eye of The Behonlder' and Elwood's Owner, Karen Quigley of Sewell, New Jersey, couldn't agree more.

"I think he's the cutest thing that ever lived," said Karen about Elwood.

well they also say that some faces are only those that a mother could love.

But what does Karen think now of Elwood, now that's he's come from the obscurity of being rescued from a Dog pound, to that of the Ugliest "Top Dog?"

"So ha ha, well now Elwood's all over the internet and people love him and adore him."

Okay people adore him? Oy.. either they're drunker then a skunk on some hard liquor, or they really need glasses. (Just kidding on this part here folks. He does kind of look cute..if you consider ugly is an acronym for cute..)

So what did Elwood win besides just the title? Well a lot.

Thanks to those looks, Elwood netted Karen, a cool 1,000 dollars in American Greenbacks.

Well for Elwood that's a lot of Doggie biscuits..

But let's give a rousing applause for Elwood, Or Yoda, or ET, or whatever you want to call him.. The world's Ugliest dog for 2007.

Aww I actually feel bad for it. It's kind of cruel :( I wonder if they cross bread it on purpose or if it just happened... well since it came from a pound it probably wasn't on purpose! Oh well, I don't think it's cute in any way not even in the so ugly it's cute way.

yeah it does.i heard it did when i was skimming the tv channels and a dog like that was on animal planet. i watched it for 30 seconds while ed,edd,n eddy was on a commercial.
