What is this Elementary School? There have been some questionable decisions in the past, but there's absolutely no valid logic behind this.

That's crazy. Plain and simple.
No high-fiving? No hugging? What's next, not being allowed to talk to each other at all (outside of class and in) and just walk around campus silently like a mindless drone?
Romanesque

I've been successfully avoiding news for a while now but I have an opinion on this. Those kids who were raised by such parents who would send them to that school are messed-up anyway, so this shouldn't make a big difference.

Who knows how much choice they really had when it came to that one public elementary school? A lot of schools have stupid policies.

Well it should certainly cut down on sickness outbreaks. :anime:
But not being able to give handshakes or high-fives is rediculous. I could understand why hugging might be brought under question but those other two seem really going over board. But hugging is also possitive in nearly all cases so it seems silly to ban that as well. Obviously making out is out of the question but eh... everybody is different.

They'll probably begin blinking in unision too.
Man I would leave that school in a heartbeat. What if someone had a friend there who was upset and needed someone there for them? Geeze that principle must live a very sheltered life.

Tch. At my school, people hug each other for dumb reasons, and it's like ALL the time. I honestly think it's a little over-the-top. High-fiving is a different story, though.

I may be a graduate, but I think this is ridiculous! It's like the school's run by Kuzco, and not Principal Amzy/Yzma, and Kuzco himself issued the "NO TOUCHY" Rule!

Yeah really. I remember the principal at my high school telling us we can't hold hands with our significant other in school. Of course nobody followed that rule though.

I agree.
Actually, I never did do a lot of touching when I was in school. Might account for my present prickliness.

Now I'm reminded when I slapped a guy a high five when I was in the sixth grade. Then the teacher told me to keep my hands to myself.
I think kids would learn alot quicker about physical limits if they got in trouble for crossing REASONABLE limits. -_-

No High-Fives?
That would make for a good episode of "Scrubs" where high-fives were not allowed in the hospital, and The Todd had to refrain from giving people high-fives.
