View Full Version : Do NOT buy "Direct TV" unless you WANT horrible service!

I'm so fed up with the craptastic company...Direct TV.

We've been stuck with them since they bought and replaced "Prime Star" (a truely superior service who ended before it's time).

Since we've had this service, we've had NOTHING but problems!

For years the signal would instantly black out at even the slightest hint of rain or a tiny bit of wind...and remain off for several hours when everything was done (or even a couple of days).

We got a cover for it, which did work for a short period of time...but it didn't last.

We tried getting other services from other companies, but because of where we live we can't get it. So sadly, we're stuck with the devil.

We called Direct Tv and explained our situation, they said it was probably due to how old our stuff was (we've had it for about 10 years now)...so they sent one of their people over, gave us a new dish and new boxes, and got paid for his work.

We have NEW equipment, NEW!!!!! And guess what folks? You got it, it's already crapping out again. Even WORSE than it did before if you can believe it.

For about 4 weeks now we've been without several stations (one box isn't receiving ANY stations), and when we called about it....Direct Tv said it needed to be repaired, but we'd have to pay for it!

Pay for them to fix the NEW equipment we just dished out a ton of money for.

Now, before you go telling me that it may just be me due to where I live...why don't I provide you with the angry reports from other unfortunate souls who have been screwed over by Direct Tv.

There's a lot, so I'll link them and you can look for yourself.

We're stuck with them because they really are the only service (including cable and an antenna) that we can get here...but that doesn't mean we're happy about it!

There's more...but I'll just leave it here and see what you all think of Direct Tv's horrible service and customer service.

I HIGHLY suggest NOT getting service from them, they're a crappy rip-off!!

We've had it for a good long while now and it seems fine, only goes black on heavy rain days or sunspots. WAAAAAAAAAY better then the cable company we were stuck with before we got DirecTV.

I blame it on not enough competition in the market.
These days, your choices are DirectTV, Comcast Cable, or.....nothing else.

Yeah, DirecTV works fine for me too.

This does not really seem like it could stem much discussion, therefore it is pointless to keep open. Sorry you got screwed over by DirecTV.
