I hope so. I mean, I've seen it already (I even have the special edition DVD) but I know people who haven't who would probably like it.

Well, if they do I hope that just once (at least) they show the theatrical trailer as a commercial for it.

I believe the answer will be yes, but I also think they'll probably do it as some sort of special like they did with the Inuyasha movies and like they are doing with Robot Chicken Star Wars.

Adult Swim hasn't been able to market serious programming since the original AS Saturdays, and FUNimation pretty much stopped pushing Fullmetal Alchemist now that they have Afro, Shin-Chan, and Tsubasa to promote (though for some reason they're still trying to schill money off of DBZ). I doubt it'll air on Adult Swim. It's a good movie, though; if you haven't seen it yet, give it a rental.

I wonder what would happen if Ani-Monday bought it:p.

It would be nice, but I doubt it considering the series ended awhile ago. If they really wanted to keep up the FMA hype, they would have shown it allready, or at least closer to when the final episode aired.
Maybe we'll get lucky, and even though I allready own it, It would be cool to see on TV.

If that was the case, then why do they go and get the Inuyasha movies when they've already aired all the series? Sure, I suppose the movies are barely being dubbed, but it's a similiar situation to FMA.

I suppose so, but Inuyasha aslo has been airing alot longer than FMA has. Maybe they feel obligated to show the Inuyasha movies? I just think that if they wanted to show the FMA movie, they would have when the series was still 'new'.

I could see them airing it eventually. I couldn't see why not?

FUNi is still pushing FMA though considering they are going to start releasing FMA in box sets, so there's still plenty of room for them to aquire it and air it. Besides, FMA has been one of their higher rated animes, so I don't see why they wouldn't air it eventually.

and at the same time, more Inuyasha DVDS are still being released.

but sure, I suppose you have a point. If they are going to air it, at least air it soon before people compleatly loose intrest.

But AS aired the 4th Inuyasha movie only a few months after the series finished up. With FMA, the series finished over a year ago and there's still no news of the movie airing.

But I am puzzled about this topic. FMA is one of AS's more popular anime series. They could of had a ratings gold mine if it aired around the time the movie came out on DVD.

But now I would imagine most fans have seen it one way or another so the ratings wouldn't be quite as high if they aired it now. It seems to me like AS missed their opportunity.

But there is still hope. AS is airing FMA this summer, so maybe when that's done there will be a possibility of airing the movie. I bet they'll see how it does in the ratings at this point and then make a decision based on that.

Are you kidding me? Movies always get horrible ratings on Adult Swim. No matter how good the Inu-yasha TV series did in ratings, the Inu-yasha movies always bombed. I wouldn't be surprised if we never see another anime movie air on Adult Swim again.

IIRC, Inuyahsa movie #4 got 400,000+. I guess that isn't super good, but it's decent. Better than average these days, at least for anime. I think FMA could've done better than that in its prime.

Wasn't AS supposed to air the FMA movie this past fall? At least that's what I heard around summer last year. Guess they changed their mind.

366K, actually.

Funny enough, movies that tie into [as] series usually perform worse than other anime movies (I remember the Escaflowne and Metropolis movies doing very well).

Would you tune into a movie related to a series that you don't like or don't watch? Non-related movies would have a broader appeal.

True, but one would also think that a movie to a strong performing series like Inuyasha would get good ratings.

Then again, I think that the movies were on DVD before they aired on TV, so fans would have already seen it by then. Could be something that's holding back the FMA movie as well.

Ah, so not as well as I thought. But it did premiere on a holiday weekend...

I doubt it. The show's been over for about 15 months now. They probably aren't going to just suddenly show the movie. I doubt it would do that well in the ratings, but none of AS's current anime do well in the ratings either. It's not like they'd have anything to lose by airing it.

They should, it was a great movie, and it's basically part of the series. It would be a tough decision though, since movies don't do too great on AS, FMA did do god though, but it's been finished for over a year (on AS run) so it's about 50/50.
