I've heard of the Proverbial 'E-ticket Ride' before, but this one wants to make you really lose your lunch. Seriously..

According to the story, A fuse blew out at Magic Springs & Crystal Falls amusement park, in Hot Springs Arkansas, bringing several rides to a halt Saturday evening.

And one of them was of course the Amusement Park's Rollercoaster called appropriately "The X-Coaster".

On the ride itself when the fuse blew, 12 riders waited upside down at the highest point, some 150 feet in the air, before they were returned safely to the ground. The X-Coaster's two cars were at the peak of a giant loop.

and they say Rides like this make you lose your lunch? Well, One rider threw up after being rescued and coming down off the ride in a ladder truck basket.

In fact you could tell who had been on the ride, as all of their faces ended up red.. And the guy who threw up? Also Complained of neck pain and a head ache..

(I mean try standing on your head 150 feet above the ground for 30 minutes or so..)

Amusement park spokeswoman Aundrea Crary said the rescue took about 30 minutes and emergency medical personnel examined all the roller-coaster riders after they came down.

and in fact it goes on to say that the power outages at the park are fairly common, but this was the first time this happened for more then a few seconds.

Frankly this is why I never liked rollercoasters that invert you... imagine having to hang like that for 30 minutes.. just so the fire department can rescue you...

But what are your thoughts about this?
Believe me, I'll never get on a coaster again...

Unless it in a computer game...:p

You must not be a very big coaster fan in the first place if that is all it takes to make you never want to ride one again.

Six Flags America has a ride, non-inverting though, that used to have yearly fuse blowouts, and the riders would wait a lot more than 30 minutes to be rescued. It happens, but it never prevents me from going on roller coasters.

I did a research paper a while back for a class and roller coasters are safer than riding a car or even putting out lawn furniture. The risk of any one person getting injured on a ride is quite small--think of the thousands of people that get on all of the different coasters every day without incident.

I get migraines with great ease. I can only imagine what would happen to me if I hung upside down for 30 minutes or so.

Anyone who rides a roller coaster without recognizing this as a hazard is silly. I'm a huge coaster enthusiast and such a risk doesn't deter me. Besides, only stories with something bad happening ever get attention. I prefer to consider the countless times the coasters have run perfectly fine.

However, with that being said, it really would suck to be caught in the middle of a loop for 30 minutes. I hate the rides that have you hang upside down for more than a few seconds so something like that would be terrible.

Oh man...

Well, I know when I went to Busch Gardens down in Tampa, we had to wait like 10 minutes because one of the rides got stuck going up (before that first dip/turn).

Still, didn't deter us from getting on it 3 more times.
