View Full Version : Billy & Mandy: The End (What do we know so far)

By now, a lot of us already know that Billy and Mandy has ended production. What we have left is "Wrath of the Spider Queen" and "The Grim Adventures of the Kids Nextdoor."

So, what do we know so far? If anyone has any more info, please add it.

"Wrath of the Spider Queen" is meant to wrap everything up. At WonderCon, Mr. Atoms was asked if Grim was going to be released from his contract and he replied something along the lines of "'Wrath of the Spider Queen' will tie up a lot of loose ends and it's the end of the TV series. However, there's definite possibilities for more specials."

What do we know about BM vs KND?

All I know is that the two art styles aren't going to be 'adapted to each other'.

Also, does anyone know much about the plot for these two specials?

I know about C.H. Greenblatt's last episode, called "Dracula Must Die" and starring vampire hunter Lionel Vanhellsing. Here's (http://bp2.blogger.com/_Jvp-cEoo4Ws/RhFHtPw_J-I/AAAAAAAAAHE/1-6YRfmQ6Pg/s1600-h/helsing01.jpg) the character design.
Other than that, no idea.

I'll bet Helsing will talk just like Dracula talk, seeing as Helsing looks just like him!

Only six episodes are unaired, as well as the Spider Queen and the crossover, and then thats it.

Actually since the Invaded Special counts as one regular episode, only five more episodes remain, as well as the Spider Movie (coming sometime in July) and the KND Crossover (coming... after that). The Spider Movie does wrap things up but since the last 5 eps are on the schedule it seems that CN dosen't care about the contniuty of B&M in the regard (I do find it weird they're not promoting it as the last episode either, since apparently they do that now. See the EEE Marathon and the initative blurb for the KND finale). The movie should be good and the last eps should be decent, whenever they air (hopefully this year but you never know with how they stretch the show sometimes).

They still have the KND/Billy & Mandy crossover, it will air in October 2007.
I have not been watching the grim adventures of billy & mandy that much.
But I am confused   Wouldn't they air the KND/Billy and Mandy crossover BEFORE Billy and Mandy ends?

Another thing, who liked the new episodes of Billy and Mandy?

Lot of shows ending this year. :crying: Unfortunately, they're the best original comedies CN's got.Billy & Mandy, Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy, and KND are all ending, and I don't see the reason why they must get canceled. Their times haven't come yet (well, maybe KND's, but not the others).

I've said it before and I'll say it again: CN lacks logic. To they're screwed up heads they'd rather wait to show that special and not care about it needing to be shown BEFORE the Spider Movie. Of course it makes no sense to the actual fans but they figure the kiddies won't know and who cares about the rest of the fanbase?

You mean of the last season? Well there have been a few good ones IMHO ("Everything Breaks", "Hey, Water You Doing?" , "Company Halt"/"Anger Mismangament") but a lot of the last seasons also had a lot of pretty weak/ not very good episodes in it truthfully ("The Greatest Love Story Never Told", "Secret Snake Club Vs P.E", "Because Of The Undertoad", "Billy Gets An A") and the weak kind of outnumber the good. The five unaired eps could shift that balance but we won't know till we see them truthfully.

CN has this really retarded idea about not having series run too long on they're network, even when they're still really popular. It makes no sense to me but I realized that's the only real reason they stopped EEE and Grim: because those shows were getting to "old" and they wanted to make way for the "next" generation of toons. I guess CN thinks that you can't have toons last that long or else kids will loose interest, although obviously they haven't been paying attention to much to Spognebob's popularity and knowing they're going to keep airing that for a pretty long time on Nick even though it's as old as EEE. There's also the now unspoken put pretty much well known 65/78 rule that extends past the normal 52 episodes but not by too much more.

What the hell? I found this on Wikipedia:

"Also, a one hour TV movie based on the film Alien vs. Predator (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_vs._Predator) called Chicken vs. Martian (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chicken_vs._Martian&action=edit) is rumored to air during the late 2008. In this movie, Morg the Martian Grim Reaper returns to Earth to take it over, but the mutant chickens also appear and do war against the Martians. This movie is a sequel to the episodes Billy and Mandy vs. the Martians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_and_Mandy_vs._the_Martians) and Which Came First? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Which_Came_First%3F)"

Can anyone back that up? Or is it just some idiot defacing Wikipedia?

The only real suprise is EEE. B&M and KND both reach 78 this year, the threshold a CN original has yet to surpass. Ed, Edd n' Eddy isn't cancelled anyway, it's on "indefinate hiatus", since aka can't process eps along with "The Big Picture Show"

w00t for official date on Spider queen, and where did you get that date owner2637, or did u make it up?

What about Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi? Did THAT show get cancelled without warning, or has Class of 3000 overshot the show in terms of popularity, because André 3000's songs are American, a language that we all can understand without going to college to take courses on it?

No, because the show is more popular and, at least in my opinion, better. I don't watch the shows for the music, as much as I do for the actual stories and characters. Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi had better music IMHO, but the actual stories were weak and had almost no character development. The exact opposite for Class of 3000, which is why I (and many others) like it better.

Hmmm. Then why did it get ever so abruptly cancelled by the Cartoon Network Executives, and give me the REAL reason for the cancellation of Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, or I will have to make like that freaky little lagomorph, Max, and rend you a new one.

Well, the Hi Hi Puffy Shrine goers have been writing and writing and writing out letters to Cartoon Network's Studios. You can tell how much papercuts that would result in. But as for WHY it was cancelled, maybe a couple of the Live Action segments kinda earned them a fine from the FCC. I mean, they removed Puffy from the Cartoon Network completely. I oughta see to it that Shout Factory and Warner Bros. releases the show on DVD, in "Complete Series" or "Season Boxset" Form, complete with the episodes that NEVER aired in America!

I thought poor rerun ratings combined with poor merchandise sales...

Leave it to Yoshi to derail this thread completely. :D

Anyway, it a shame that just as I get into it, Billy and Mandy has to end. Though I'm certainly not going to miss it as much as I'll miss Ed, Edd and Eddy.

The show failed to get any ratings after the first season. As in no one was really watching it (or not enough in the 2-11 demographic anyway) so they canned it after the third season (not even showing some of the eps in America I believe). I mean really they did try promoting it hard like every original CN toon (weekday slot, promotions, intergrating it into the CN Top 5, etc) but nothing really came of it. Just one of those shows not many people were into. Kind of like Juniper Lee, which also got little fanfare after it's second season and slowly faded into nonexistance. Only Puffy slowly faded more because it had less fans enjoying the show and wanting to see more of it. I could say on a personal level Puffy was just too cliched and not really funny to continue airing but I feel that way about other shows that still have episodes playing. I'm just giving the reason Puffy actually did fail.

Shows don't always get canceled because a network is being mean, guys. Atoms wanted to wrap up Billy & Mandy.

All, I can say is the "Wrath of the Spider Queen" movie didn't cover really anything, but if you want to know the complete story of B&M then go here: http://grim.snafu-comics.com/?strip_id=0

How the hell is that the "complete story"? That's just pure fanfiction.

I'd rather not think that Grim and Mandy making babies is the canon future.

Maxwell Atoms has said that billy and Mandy has wrapped production, but that there will be a a possibility for specials(including one next halloween). And correct me if i'm wrong, but don't we have 5 or so eps left?

Nope, One more episode left.

From what I understand, Wrath of Spider Queen counts as a two parter episode, so besides that the season total would be 11, and 11 of those have aired, so it's over. If not, do you know what that episode is?
