I still love Manaphy more than Jirachi.

I liked this movie's dub more than movie 8's. In my opinion, many of the VAs on both sides have their own, suitable spin on their characters, which isn't really detrimental for many of them. However, some versions of characters I really like more than the other; in my eyes, both of Eric Stuart's roles are totally eclipsed by Bill Rogers' Brock and Jimmy Zoppi's (Billy Beach's) James, but while Zoppi has a decent version of Meowth, Blaustine seemed to have given him a more memorable performance over all.
That said, I think the 9th movie just had a better execution when it came to dub, even if movie 8 had the better plot. I mean, the casting choices for 9 were top notch for the new characters; for 8, I didn't really find Lucario's gravely voice suitable, and Aaron had some emoting problems here and there. It also didn't hurt 9's score that it finally recieved a widescreen release and that the ending score wasn't nearly as cheesy-sounding.
So in all, 8 was a decent effort, but it definately still shows the marks of the declining quality of 4Kids' Pokemon dub, while on the other side of the mirror, movie 9 shows just how far TAJ has come with the dub.

I thought it was pretty good for a Pokemon movie. The new dubbers have come a long way indeed, and Rogers' Brock is a standout. I was a bit disappointed that Jessie/James/Meowth didn't have much to do, though. 8/10.

I was planning on picking this up anyway, and now that Pikachu short just gives me more incentive to do so. The bonuses sound nice but I don't think any of them are worth the extra $5. Might as well get it at Deep Discount DVD.

I wasn't very impressed by movie eight so I'm a little surprised Duke was high-lighting it the way he did. I'll catch this film when CN airs it next, though.
