No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no!
You NEVER EVER take something annoying, pointless, and disgusting like a lower-thirds graphic and then praise it or comment on it in anyway other than pure disgust. Never give the idea that annoying crap like that is okay no matter how pretty or unobtrusive it is because none of it is necessary and it always takes something out of the viewing experience.
Just no.

What Your Problem With The New Schedule Bar, Its Okay For Me.

What Your Problem With The New Schedule Bar, Its Okay For Me.Okay, number one, you don't have to capitalize every word in a sentence. That's good for titles, and nothing more.
Number two, RoseBusch, in the time it took to type out the word thoughts with other characters, you could have just typed it out with actual letters.
And number three, as far as any on-screen obstructions, if it wasn't a part of the original production, it doesn't belong on the screen. That includes schedule bars, ID bugs/DOGs, ratings icons, and pointless graphic ads that crawl across the screen. They're unnecessary and unwanted. People don't like them online, so what the heck makes programmers think we like them on television?

What Your Problem With The New Schedule Bar, Its Okay For Me.What Jeff said. I don't care how pretty it looks, it shouldn't BE there.
Praising it for being smaller and prettier is like being happy that a dead squirrel corpse in the middle of the road still had his head attached to him. Sure, it's great that his body isn't horribly mutilated but he still died a horrible, undignified death that shouldn't have happened in the first place.
What's worse - Cartoon Network still airs NOW/NEXT bumpers IN ADDITION TO the on-screen lower-thirds, further proving the on-screen bumpers absolutely, 100% useless. On screen ads should never have been tolerated by people in the first place, and the fact that they have is the reason they keep getting bigger and louder and it won't stop. Opinions that support these atrocities in even the slightest simply should not exist period, let alone be voiced on the internet, let alone on a forum that network employees have been known to browse.

I think ur right, i mean CN does have those "Comming Up Next..." bumps before the last commercial break for a show, and plus theres the internet... so i think CN should just drop the NOW/NEXT/ANNOUNCEMENTS banner... (The annoucements banner may stay only becuse the're just news...)

Hey Jeff, you're right! Who cares? They should take down those bumpers! And also, replace those ridiculous commerical bumpers (ie. Red Vs. Red) and their dumb schedule.
But why do you put CN down like that? And why you're on the CN forum if you hate CN so much (excluding Toonami and Adult Swim)? You know you can't change CN 100%, you're just like us used-to-be-CN-fans, hoping that CN could come to their senses and that the Jim Samples succedor can listen to the real fans and not the rich, snotty ones to put CN back to its roots, like putting back old WB/ Hanna barbera shows on weekends and weekday mornings, when they have no originals in the morning. But, the ratings icons must be alerted in the middle of the show to alert parents if they're kids should watch the show or not. The ratings thing came in January 1st, 1997. The time it came affective to be shown after commericals was in early 2005.

I'm a big fan of your Imagine If... cycles, can you do one, like if Time Warner bought Comedy Central or The Simpsons coming to Adult Swim?
Oh and by the way, can you please put more blogs in Cycle 5, you've gotten a little lazy, lol.

I don't mind the now/ next screens, but I hate that they take almost a third of the screen away. They startted that format with Miguzi, moved it to Toonami, and now they show it on CN. If they really insist on showing them, they should temporarily decrease the screen size a bit so a third of the movement isn't cut off, especially when they're displaying something like a players point amount on Yu-Gi-Oh! GX or a sharingan on Naruto.

Hate is such a strong word and an ugly one too. Am I pleased with the network's current direction? Absolutely not. I feel that there is a lot of potential left in Cartoon Network, but those in power aren't willing to tap it for some odd reason. Cartoon Network has access to a library of titles and a pair of studios to produce newer shows. They have talented creators and producers that truly are fans of animation and not buttoned-down suits who would rather be at CNN or somewhere "better."
I don't hate Cartoon Network. I just wish the network recognizes who they are and try not to be something they're not.
Oh, and I already commented about the pointless ratings icons on the site a couple of years ago (http://thexbridge.toonzone.net/wts131.html). It was stupid then, and by golly, it's still stupid.

You see, um, up until 2004 I believe, Time Warner actually owned HALF of Comedy Central. Back in 1990, Viacom founded HA!: The Comedy Network while Time-Warner's HBO unit launched The Comedy Channel. Seeing as both units weren't really big, the two comedy channels merged operations as Comedy Partners and named their combined channel Comedy Central.
And The Simpsons would never be on Adult Swim. If Cartoon Network ever won the lottery and acquired cable rights to The Simpsons, it would be placed prominately at 8 PM on Cartoon Network Mondays through Thursday nights and an hour at 6 PM Sundays on Cartoon Network, not Adult Swim. Why? Because The Simpsons is not an "adult" show per se, but rather a family series.
Oh and by the way, can you please put more blogs in Cycle 5, you've gotten a little lazy, lol.Yeah, okay. I'm lazy. Being a full-time caregiver for my grandfather makes me lazy. Life gets in the way. I don't get paid for doing my site. It's a hobby. I write when I have time, and time isn't always allotted to me. When you're a one-man operation, you do what you have to do. Updates come when they come.
Patience will be rewarded.
Meh, if CN has to have these things, then I'd rather they do what Sci Fi used to do up until a few years ago. That is: Plain white text with no fancy effects or anything. It just appears out of the corner, stays there for a few seconds, and then leaves. It lets you know what you're watching (in case you come in mid-show or something), tells you what's next, and advertises future events, all without being distracting at all.

I know it's a mock design, but why does it have to be seen at the start of the show?
It's not supposed to be at the start of the show - it's just the first EEnE picture that came up for me on Google Image Search.
It would actually air after every third commercial break in a show.
Actually, I was thinking along the lines of this, except more professionally done and would appear after the second and third commercial breaks.
And also, it probably wouldn't be way out of the safe areas. Overscan and all of that.
