80's chick cartoon parody's in cartoons

Cartoons from the 1980's that's audience were very young kids pacificly girls, which I call chick cartoons. Cartoons like Strawberry Shortcakes, Care Bears, My Little Pony, etc.

Let's list some parodies. I love it when cartoons for an older audiences make fun of them a little bit.

An episode of The Simposons when Homer had a nightmare, and one of the Care Bears attacked him with a crowbar.

Drawn Together, Strawberry Shortcake as an evil killer

There is a parody of Raggidy Ann and Andy, with a talking Raggidy Ann doll that said "That is water weight". Does anyone know what cartoon that was from.

They've all been parodied by Robot Chicken at some point.

Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab had "Pony Puffs", a parody of MLP, and in an episode of Dexter's it turned out they weren't quite so sweet and innocent...

It generalizes things and seems kinda chauvinistic. Plus, it's not really accurate. Care Bears, for example, was aimed at little kids in general, not specifically girls.

Yeah. I watched Care Bears as a kid... and the Popples... I had an episode of Jem on some old BETA tape I would end up watching from time to time and apparantly I watched Strawberry Shortcakes...but I have no recollection of it so that must have been when I was extremely young XD

There was an awesome New Adventures of Mighty Mouse that parodied just about every cartoon that was on in the 80's. From The Jetsons to The Real Ghostbusters.

Well I didn't know what to caterise these types of cartoons. Besides it is not really negative, girly cartoon or wimp cartoon that would be disrespectful and negative. I thought chick cartoon was kind of cute, a take on the chick flick.

When I was a little kid, I thought the Care Bears were alright, never saw Strawberry Shortcake , though I draw the line at My Little Ponys.

I had a little pony toy... I don't recall how I ended up with it...either a hand me down (I had like 50 cousins and I got more now oO) or I was whining for a toy while in a store of something. Don't remember the show at all either.

In any case, not all the shows you listed fit in the same genre. I mean Jem has little in common with My Little Pony or Care Bears, beside the lack of 'actiony' stuff happening.

Jem has more in common with old school magical girl anime in fact.

And My Little Pony wasn't that bad... not next to the modern version, at least, to hear a local forumite tell it. (Why can't I find that post...?)

Fairly Odd Parents had parody's of some 80's cartoons in the tv movie: Channel Chasers.
At least Strawberry Shortcake.

It was removed from that site, yes, but it's still easy enough to google up. I just wasn't going to post an actual site with it. It's Strawberry Shortcake by way of American McGee, this company that makes horror videogames based on Alice in Wonderland and stuff.
