There's a roadsideamerica.com site which has a story about a horned toad named Old Rip who was buried in a cornerstone of a building. 31 years later it was opened and he emerged alive (well, at least that's one version of the story...).
Obviously, this could have been part of the inspiration for a certain popular cartoon featuring a dancing frog.
Anyway, the site's been there a long time but it came up in conversation today and I can't recall it being discussed here so I tawt I'd mention it. I'm guessing that at least some of the people who pass through here daily haven't ever heard the story of Old Rip.
