LOL, I love fundamentalists.
I think Parents have less of a grip on reality than kids. I certainly knew what was real & what wasn't..

Gah...I wish these people would get off this witchcraft dissing stuff... I swear, the more they complain about fictional movies and tv shows just shows the more desperate they are to get publicity and such.

Sigh... this is reallly starting to get on my nerves. Really. They diss Harry Potter, they diss Pokemon, and now they diss Cardcaptors (although in my opinion the only thing "satanic" about CC is what Nelvana did to it ;)). What are they going to point the finger at next? Tinkerbell because she has magic fairy dust, and therefore is a work of the devil?
If you'll excuse me, I must get to sacrificing that wild boar for the almighty Lord Farquaad, who is the ruler of us all and will surely bring us peace by taking us to the Planet Blisstonia in the year 3000  (I'm kidding, of course!)

Sigh.
This is part of the reason I dread letting people know that I'm a Christian. "Are you one of those guys who see the end of the world in every new rap album?" No. The end of the world will come when it comes. I won't waste my sweat on it.
That's it. I'm calling for a moratorium on Fundamentalists. If any of you guys see Satan in something, please let us figure it out for ourselves. Trust me, we'll find out. For example, the upcoming Scooby-Doo movie, with a CGI Scooby? Now, that's pure, malevolent evil...

This is like that one time in the newspaper where supposedly one of the reasons Christians were against Pokemon was because some of them 'had horns, like the Devil' (Um, WHICH one, buddy?! Maybe Tauros, the one that looks like *A FRIGGIN' COW*?!)
Seriously, this is stupid. I'm a Catholic and I find that dedicating precious time looking for every questionable item in a cartoon or anything of the sort to be that-a waste of time. If you find something that you fear might affect your child negatively, simply talk to your kid about it, explain the bad that comes from it.
To be cautious of your children is one thing-to be all-out paranoid and to annoy the rest of the world with your phobia for anything that doesn't seem 'right' for you is a whole other matter entirely.

Unfortunately, there are people in the world who aren't happy unless they're complaining about something. Especially a stupid something.

Witchcraft? Bah. If they're afraid of witchcraft, they should get schools to stop teaching kids about the Salem Witchtrials. What are they going to complain about next? Lord of the Rings? (I honestly hope not! ;) )

Actually, I think they have complained about LOTR. I dont remember the context, but I do recall hearing about some grumblings.

It would be very amusing if they did. Tolkien was a deeply religious, arch-conservative Catholic!

Who led C.S. Lewis to Christ. Something that we Christians do, is, we are very quick to lable things "demonic". Gets annoying at times.

I'm a christian, but yes..I am terribly bothered by the fact that most christians wont accept fiction. *sigh*. Especially my stories..which I do use a lot of references from different cultures, & beliefs. And while I blantly state "its fiction", I often get attacked, because "it's unholy". Nah..it isn't. It's a non-true story. *sigh*. Satanic my butt.

Yes, I can imagine them complaining about LOTR. Fundamentalists tend to be against us Catholics...>.< Oh, well...I'm used to it by now.

Man I hate this maybe someone should send these extremist a fax reminding them that we supposedly live in a free society and in a free society we have the right to have independant thought and make our own desisions and if they don't like it then they should just go and live in the bush where they can try and convince the wildlife to where clothes. This reminds me of the Sam&Max ep The Glazed McGuffin Affair where someone in the goverment pulled Sam&Max's favorite food thus Sam&Max chase the guy all around the city tring to convince him to bring their favourite food back. Man what I wouldn't give if Sam&Max where real so they could uhhh convince some of these extremist to change their mind.

Well Cardcaptor Sakura does kind of trendialize the magical arts, but I don't know about it promoting the worship of Satan. How do you think they'd react if they saw the unedited stuff? Ya know with same sex crushes?
BTW The Pokemon thing I felt was kinda dumb. Oh well, and yes I do think Tolkien was a Christian, I know he was buddy's with Lewis anyway, and I'm reading the Screwtape letters.

"Opinions are like *******s...everybody's got one."
Doesn't make it any sweeter to hear about.
It's a free country, and in a free country, they're allowed to be as paranoid as they want. Actually, I pity the fundamentalists. They're afraid of everything. They believe the world is going to Hell in a handkart. Well, I figure, if we ARE, we might as well enjoy the ride! :D
(Oh, and by the way, I'm Catholic. Not a practicing Cathoic, but I personally believe in the fundamentals of what it's supposed to teach. THAT's fundamentalism, dammit--not screaming about seeing Satan in a 7-Up bottle. Stupid Fundamentalists, giving fundamentals a bad name...>fumes< :D)
Those people need to get more fresh air.

Not too long ago, a group of this sort decided to prove the superiority of their beliefs with a bonfire. Star Wars merchandise, Harry Potter books, books by Tolkien....

Take nudist they don't try and make everyone a nudist what is missing from extreamist like those that think Pokémon and Cardcaptors is bad is respecting other peoples opions.

--from my take on Pokemon and Revelations. Charmander as the dragon (albeit with one head instead of seven), Ponyta and Rapidash as the flaming horses of the apocolypse--and Jessy as the Strumpet of Babylon. LOL. Wait--who can I cast as those leaders who worship the Strumpet? How's that go? Five have come, a sixth presently serves her, and the seventh is yet to rise...? And what about the seven sealed scrolls...?
Let's see...Pharisees are the ones who condemn others but absolve themselves of their own sins...Saducees are those who don't believe in Jesus and select text at random then distort it to fit their own views...or was it the other way about? And which are these guys?

This is ridiculous. I'm really getting tired of things like this. I found this site back in November which was protesting over all kinds of things- Dragonball Z, Evangelion, Gundam Wing, Star Wars. For Wing, they claimed Duo 'worships' the god of death and for Star Wars they said it makes children think they have Force powers. There was a comment from a woman- "Thank you for tellling me this. I told my 13 year old son, who was a Star Wars collector. He has now burnt all his Star Wars items" -_-;;

This is what really makes me mad about these 'fundamentalists' - witchcraft does not equal satanism. Here's a big clue: Christians invented Satan, they are the ones who believe in him. Wiccans, Pagans, etc do not acknowledge and in no way worship him.
Perhaps if they got their facts together they wouldn't be running around putting their noses in other peoples beliefs.
From a bumper sticker:
The last time we mixed politics with religion people were burnt at the stake.

Ah yes, the infamous Pokémon banning because it promotes the theory of evolution. Actually, the whole evolution-Bible battle has happened before in the 1920s. There was a court case about a teacher's rights to teaching the theory of evolution in school and fundamentalists were trying to fight to get the theory banned from schools because it contradicts the Bible. Who won? The pro-evolution people.
I agree with Calico on the witchcraft does not equal satanism statement. If anyone out there has read the play The Crucible, you might feel the same way. Fundamentalists tend to be a little too critical and paranoid over these things. I just have one thing to say to people like these:
fic-tion n . 1. An event, statement, or occurrence that has been invented or feigned rather than having actually taken place. 2. The act of producing such inventions; a feigning
