Good job. I think I'm going to make a C&C for it, but with a disclaimer. They even ran ads for it, so they're up to something...

I don't believe them for a second. I'll still tune in, but I remain skeptical.

So.
Here.
This is the only proof i can come up with.
I love aqua teen beyond all belief, but i gotta say....doubtful.
Please don't kill the fun for the gullible. That's no fun. :(
Business as usual? Where's the fun in that? I wanted them to do something crazy.

i know.
it sucks.
i really wanted it to play, honestly.
But i figured "Hey...why not...these guys seem to wanna know" lol.
Atleast they arent anime-ing the night up. Saturday is the most dissapointing night on cartoon network. THAT INCLUDES FRIDAY DAMMIT!

I am still taping the whole night

Well, only the first 2 hours will have something weird happen (since after Midnight it obviously won't be April Fools Day anymore), which doesn't leave much time for a whole lot.

I think they really mean it this time  it will air!

I just can't believe there's any debate on this matter. At most they'll show the first 5 minutes, then interupt with some "April Fools!" card, and a quick reminder to see it opening day.

Heh. Glad I checked this thread. I didn't realize what the date was. I mean, once the day rolled around, then yeah, I mean, I learned my lesson almost a decade ago with that Terrence and Philip Movie.

Maybe they'll play the whole movie, but every important plot point will have a "scene missing" card,,therefore the movie makes no sense without the missing scenes, causing us to go see the film to figure it all out.

I guess I'm the only one wondering why AS is giving such an obvious and more stupid than funny April Fool's "joke."

They probably didn't want to do another "draw mustaches everywhere" or "insert farts at random spots" joke, though they may do that anyway on the Action block (considering that Bleach, Eureka Seven, and Champloo are going to be repeats of the previous week).

See, those are actually creative and kinda humorous. This one screams "...duh" to me.
I see three possibilities, ranked in my opinion of chance of happening:
3) Utter, utter dismissal. Either we don't see a single second, or it's a fake out after a minute or two.
2) They air the whole thing, but it's at Ludicrous Speed, or in Urdu, or staticy, or any other manner of obstruction.
1) Son of a gun, they actually do it, albeit censored (that's okay, I'm rather amused by the random SFX bleeps).
I'd love to be wrong, but... I highly, highly doubt it.

Or... you know... they could do something that has nothing to do with the movie at all and do a whole different prank.
I don't know why you're counting out something similar to the moustaches or farts just because of this ad.

Truth be told, I didn't see either prank, so I couldn't prank. I only know from the discussions here.
...say, weren't you the one who asked if I saw a message in "Lice Capades" last week, he asks?

Since they're saying it'll air, and are even running ads for it, they're going to have to acknowledge it somehow, regardless of what they end up doing.

Or they could air nothing but one "screwy squirel" cartoon continuously all night on Sunday and call it the ATHFCMFFT
(I'd watch:))

What I think they will do is show like 5 seconds of the movie, then go to a Scene Missing card for about an hour or so then show like the last 5 seconds of the end credits.
The 'Wacky Deli" as it were

Maybe they'll just dig up some more obscure ruby spears stuff like rambo or sectaurs (a la last years mr. t/chuck norris stunt) and air it in the slot the ATHF movie was supposed to run in.

They'll show the whole movie.
That doesn't mean you'll be able to see it very well.

Or they'll do something like air My Little Pony the Movie, only dubbed over with various ATHF episodes.
Fullmetal Alchemist- Conqueror of Shamabla.
That'll get a lot of people riled up.
Unless they're planning on running it commercial free and don't plan on airing it during the encore, I highly doubt it.

A better joke would be to just run the movie.
That way nobody would actually watch it, thinking the movie would be on, and it'd be hilarious.

sound like LOADS BETTER pranks than what Adult Swim probably has in mind.
We'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it's true. Note that nowadays cable networks have aired DVD release movies before their actual releases. They did that for "Leroy and Stitch" and "Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea". That appears to work. Maybe Cartoon Network thinks it'll work for a theatrical release as well.
