View Full Version : Who voices Otto on Time Squad?

I know Tuddrussel is voiced by Rob Paulsen (the voice genius behind Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain) and Larry 3000 is played by Mark Hammil of Star Wars fame, but who plays Otto Osworth, my fav. character?
The closing credits were a little too fast for my eye, but I saw Pamela followed by two other names near Paulsen and Hammel's names. Does this mean Pamela Hayden (Milhouse, Bart's friend from The Simpsons) plays Otto. That would be great, if I were right. Hayden is superb as Milhouse on Simpsons and as Douglas McNoggin on ABC's Lloyd in Space.
The basic question is "Who Plays Otto Osworth on Time Squad? Pamela Hayden (Milhouse from The Simpsons)?"

Who voices "Time Squad"'s Sherm...uh, Otto? It's a Pamela, but not the one you're thinking of: Otto's voice is done by Pamela Segall Adlon (Bobby on "King of the Hill"; is it just me, or do their voices kinda sound alike?).

Thanx for the tip.
And, yes. Their voices DO sound alike. That's because they are from the same voice actress.

IIRC, Pamela Segall Adlon also did the voice of Babe, the sheepherding pig.

Nope. Christine Cavanaugh was the original Babe. E.G. Daily was the pig in the sequel.

Mrs. Segall-Adlon voices Otto, that freaky kid from The Oblongs, Bobby Hill, and the titular character Rusty the Boy Robot. Why she only voices boys, I'm not sure. She's one of the few actors who only uses one voice--like Alyson Court or Yeardley Smith....
On Time Squad--I was suggesting to a lady friend the other day that I'm just waiting for some joker to knock off some TS slashfic--Tudrussel and Larry have that quasi-disturbing daddy-mommy dynamic with Otto. Recall also in a bumper, as Larry watches Buck and Johnny Bravo flexing, he calls it "barbaric"--then adds, "Yet, strangely compelling...." :o

Here's her entry on the Internet Movie Database.

Quasi-disturbing is putting it mildly. "Teetering along the line of campy and bizarre" is more like it...and it tears me up inside that Larry acting gay can get past the CN censors but something like Fred Luo making a pass at Gene Starwind on "Outlaw Star" gets cut. Granted, one might not be as extreme as the other, but come on! Where's justice?
If anyone reads this and cares about it, please respond to me on Private Message.

I saw that (unfortunately I didn't tape it) on CCF and Larry doesn't say it's "barbaric" before adding that last line; he said it was uncivilized (but that's me being picky).

Another notable Segall-Adlon credit: Moose (a girl) on Pepper Ann. I, personally, think that Moose is some of her best work.
Alyson Court is a voice actress. Her major credits are Lydia on Beetlejuice and Jubilee on X-Men. The good DR. was sweet on Ms. Court. Trivia: Tara Strong (nee Charendoff) also worked on Beetlejuice, voicing Lydia's nemesis, Claire.

When my sister heard Otto Osworth speak she said "Geez, does that girl only have ONE voice?!" :D

And yet, she still won the Outstanding Voiceover Performance emmy this year.

I think her work is great. Her voice has that rasphy sound that goes great for little cartoon boys. If you listen to her characters they do tend to sound the same, yet there is something different about them....perhaps the characters' temperment. Otto is kind of the nerdy submissive kid that always tried to smooth things over. Bobby Hill is an odd ball preteen with issues. Milo Oblong is a kid with issues, but more on the zany, comical side. Spinelli was this ruff-n-tuff tomboy. Each of them kind of stand on their own, so her voice sounding alike in many of them doesn't really ruin the roles, in my opinion.

I see three different voices. True, she uses the same voice for Milo and Otto(And makes it very annoying by practically yelling all of them), uses a more normal version of that voice for Bobby and Spinelli, and does a totally different deep voice for Moose(I honestly was very surprised when I found out it was her).
I also caught her in two PC games: Humungous Entertainment's late Pajama Sam series, as the title character(Otto/Milo voice), and my personal all-time favorite PC game, Grim Fandango(Pugsy the angel kid, once again with the Otto/Milo voice, and Carla the security guard, with surprisingly what may be her natural voice.).
Personally, I like her. She puts a lot of effort into her acting and I'd say it's earned her an award. If you want the biggest example of an actor who uses the same voice over and over, look at Jim Cummings. Though he's a great actor, the only one of his voices that sounds different from the others is Winnie the Pooh.

A voice is like a lover--if it's a good one, it's the only one you need. ;)
Consider the late great Don Messick, who had maybe four or five seperate voices (half his characters, like Ranger Smith and Dr. Quest, were just him speaking naturally, I think)...yet he and Daws Butler pretty much were the v/o dept. of Hanna-Barbera from the late fifties to early sixties.

Oh, sure.
Jim Cummings may use the same voice in some recent cartoons, but what about in Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers when he played Monterey Jack?

actually she was the voice of the dainty lady figurehead (it was a girl figure) on Escape From Monkey Island. She sounded like a slightly more feminine bobby, at least it didn't sound EXACTLY THE SAME!

Speaking of different voices, Mrs. Segal-Adlon does the voice of one of the Hill kids on "The Oblongs"(Jared, the blond one with the black shirt) and I could tell because he sounds like a really masculine version of Moose Pearson from Pepper Ann

Wasn't Alyson Court on a live-action show? And if she was, what was it called?
