Here we go again with Pacific quakes.. and this time it's not just 1 quake but rather 2..
First off at at 08:40:02 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) a Magnitude 7.2 quake struck the Vanatu Island Chain in the south Pacific. This quake was followed at 09:08:19 PM by an aftershock that measured 6.0 on the Richter scale. So far no reports or damange came from this quake, and as of this writing no Tsunami threat for the Pacific has been issued.
Then At 08:41:57 PM (Eastern Daylight Time) tonight a Magnitude 6.7 Quake Struck off the west coast of the main island of Honshu, Japan, triggering small (10 cm high) tsunamis and leaving 1 person dead and at least 80 Injured in the Ishikawaprefecture (state), Japan’s Meteorological Agency said.
So here we have two quakes more then 4000 miles apart almost occurring almost simultaneously. and luckily for the Pacific Rim so far no reports of Tsunami activity has been reported. But conditions could change if warranted.
Feel free to discuss these two events. It seems like we're back on a "Roll" again with the seismic events.
