How many episodes do we get? As in do we have a break incoming? If they treat Bleach like Toonami does Zatch Bell and Naruto (sans the recap episodes), then probably not for a while, at least until the summer or fall.

Blanqueo. Bleichmittel. Eau de Javel. Branqueamento. Oтбеливать. Candeggiare. BLEACH.
New intro reaction: I liked the visuals of the first intro better.
Spike Spencer's good at voicing whiners.
Way to go, Orihime. Cue the Benny Hill music.
Ikkaku's out for blood now just because Ichigo ripped off his weapon's tassel?
And down goes Mr. Nunchaku-Sword. Advantage Team Kuroneko.
Watch where you plant your smoke screen, Ganju.
Grouchy to the end. Even when the end never comes.
The dreaded pit is a garage barge? With a ladder?
"You expect me to die?"
"No, Ikkaku, I expect you to talk!"

An automail arm versus an Angel Arm. I'd pay to see that.

Ouch. Nasty cut. I guess that's one down.
Oh wait nevermind.
Make that two nasty cuts. NOW he's down.

I serisouly love those eyes of his. Which is why I seriously love that squad ending.

Hey what the... Why is River from IGPX in Gin's squad? :p
Wasn't sure if Vic could deliver the feracity that Ikkaku can display. He handled it pretty awesome though.

The highlight of tonight's was undoubtedly Orihime accidentally calling the attention of the guards.

Great more running. Ichigo vs. Ikkaku was pretty cool though. I'm guessing we won't see Kenpachi against Ichigo for a while. He needs a better navigator.

I just wish this dub would drop the intelligent, proper-sounding accents for some of these characters. Ikkaku's not that smart, so he shouldn't sound like it either.

Actually I was wondering about that. Does Ikkaku speak in a formal tone in the Japanese version? With Kenpachi it is always easy to tell that he is talking like a street thug (which he is), but did Ikkaku have a special manner of speech?

He is definately as much a thug as Kenpachi.

He is definately as much a thug as Kenpachi.
Kenpachi and Ikkaku no longer sound like thugs, Gin no longer sounds like a hick, and everyone calls Ishida by his first name. Well at least the dub directors are being consistant in removing any of the entertaining quirks from the orginal for the English version.

I seriously thought Orihime was gonna ask the Soul Reaper's directions to Rukia at first. Could've been funny, but, yeah, it wouldn't fit. And it came as no surprise that Ikkaku survived. Even though the fight came to a bloody end, I couldn't see him dying from it. Nice episode.

I really like the artistic shots during Ichigo's and Ikkaku's fight...the penciling and the black and white shots.
The dub work is getting better, good stuff all around.

Good episode, with a nice fight. Ichigo and Ikkaku match up well together, and Kenpachi makes for hilarity.

As far as voices go, I think they got Ikkaku's voice pretty much dead on target IMHO. He sounds better in the English dub then the original. I can't argue with it.
The most recent voice I just can't find myself feeling as though it fits is Yachiru's. In the Japanese version she sounds cute AND annoying. In the English version she just sounds cute. I haven't decided if I like it but I think the cute AND annoying part is what made it comically annoying.
The worst offenders are STILL Yumichika and Ichimaru in that order.
Just a quick bit of non-spoiler trivia. Just to keep a running gage of Ichigo's power compared to the people around him, Ikkaku is the second strongest person of the strongest fighting squad in Soul Society.
Next week we get to finally see Ishida has improved! =)

I'm there with you bro.
Some voices they did very good with in the dub but for all the good voices we have, others are equally, if not horribly worse and very out of place.

I'll agree that those two voice are my least favorite as well. Yumichika is not girly enough! Gin is just...eh. I'm on the slow train to acceptance land. Maybe in a few weeks i'll finally adjust. Don't get me wrong though, I ♥ dubs all the way, I just don't care for those voices.

Hanataro as Shinji! OMG, Is it weird if I'm going to be expecting him to scream: MISATO!!!
Like the new endings. Gin with his eyes open was freaky!
Ikkaku, you lovable idiot! :anime: Don't open your wounds!! LOL

ok, it is probably going to take those of you who have seen this before the dubs, and if it contains a spoiler, then just say so, but don't spoil me (if it is major, minor spoils are ok).
ok, here is the actual question. in the fight with Ichigo, what was it that he figured out and then ripped off the tassle. i don't know if i missed the explanation, or if it was something that was supposed to be assumed. But that was my only confusing part. So far, this arch seems to be interesting. hope it keeps up.

There's not really a spoiler here but I'm not wholly sure I can put it into a concrete explanation.
As a fighter in competition against an opponent, you need to fight them to figure out a weakness in their defense. The weakness is not always so much an obvious flaw in their attack or defense but sometimes its the timing of how they initiate, withdraw, combine or continue attacks.
All Ichigo was referring to is he figured out Ikkaku's timing.
This is at least how I precieve the comment. Up through episode 119, theres no further explanation. If there's a different meaning behind it, it might have a manga explanation.

Ok, now I have a question about the Squad 3 ending. I'm not sure if this is a spoiler or not but I'm going to throw it in tags just in case. There are some minor spoilers (no plot elements) in the spoiler tags so read at your own risk if you aren't up to date on the subs.
Bleach beginnings and endings are notorious for having spoilers in them. I know Kira has a radical loyalty to Ichimaru even considering his relationship with Renji and Hinamori (aka the old gang).
I noticed this time around, that during the Squad 3 ending, Kira has a scene where darkness is surrounding him and Ichimaru "rescues" him from the darkness.
Does this have any known significance?
Wasn't that scene of Kira surrounded by black lifted from the GN cover, or was the manga not that far ahead?
Anyway, decent episode. Kind of weird that Ichi & the gang are just starting their run through the Soul Society (thus beginning the real meat of the arc) while the English manga is starting to wrap it up...

Then you are saying that the tassle had something to do with timing? because it threw me that Ikkaku tossed the whole section of the spear that the tassle was attached to, after first having a cow that Ichigo torn it up.
But thanks for the answer, guess that is the best us as an audiance gets.

Essentially, Ichigo did two things at that point in the fight that unsettled Ikkaku. The first thing is that he figured out Ikkaku's attack style, how to evade it and counter it. The second thing, which is what really upset Ikkaku, is that he BLOCKED Ikkaku's weapon with his bare hand, not just ripping off the tassel but also damaging the end of the rod. So at that point, Ikkaku's starting to worry about just how strong Ichigo can be to take the attack, damage Hozuki-maru, and declare his ability to win the battle.

I liked the Ichigo-Ikkaku fight more this week than last week. Probably because of the funny ending. Of course with an injury like that, it'll open back up if you laugh!
And more hilarity between Ganju getting caught in his own Chili Pepper Smoke Bomb and Orihime accidentally grabbing the attention of some of the Soul Reapers.
Oh, and "Don't tell me we're back to running again!" Classic.
"Release the Death Blow!": 4/5.
