View Full Version : I've read all sorts of problems about ZoneAlarm 7.0...

I'm at the point where you have to reboot the system to completely install it (It didn't give an official annocement, it DID say that there was an error in the TrueVector engine, I then went to Zone Labs' message boards and read everything that had happened with this ZoneAlarm version after intallation). Do I uninstall the new version with it being partially installed right now, or reboot to see what happens? After reading all this stuff about BSODs and other issues, I just want to uninstall the whole thing w/o restarting then reinstall 6.5 again.

EDIT: Now I'm reading that thing about the TrueVector error meant that it didn't install period. Here's the error in question...

"Setup is unable to log into the TrueVector service. Install cannot continue without logging into the TrueVector service. Please use the service manager to shutdown the TrueVector service and then restart the installer program."

Another message appeared after that, but I don't remember what it was...and that last message might mean the thing might not've installed at all...

Sorry, I would provide a suggestion... but since there wasn't a version compatible with Vista, I let my license expire and stopped using it.

I would say boot into safe mode, uninstall version 7 from there. Then reboot normally and install the previous version.

Not much else I can type up. :sweat: Zone Alarm was a great product (IMO). It makes me sad seeing that Zone Alarm's latest release is causing problems.

This isn't a tech support forum. You shouldn't bump threads just to keep your question in everyone's faces.

No one is answering my real question...is it okay to uninstall partially installed programs w/o rebooting???Yes it is. in a sense that nothing can go wrong that hasn't gone wrong already. Just don't forget to clean the physical folder from C:\Programs and don't forget to clean your registry manually (if you need help cleaning your registry let me know). After that reboot your system and reinstall the program.
