C&C - Bleach - "Formation! The Worst Tag" [3/17]

PREVIOUSLY ON BLEACH our heroes arrived in Soul Society but the attempt to go through the gate was thwarted by Captain Ichimaru Gin. As a second attempt they visit Kukaku Shiba who trains them and subsequently launches our heroes in a canon to enter Seireitei from above. The attempt works but the group has been split into four.

Ikkaku's voice has been one of the best straight-out-of-the-gate so far, I'd say. Plus Ikkaku gets really cool later on in the series, so it's nice to see he'll stay cool in the dub.

Each ending will give a little background on each of the 13 squads showing us the each Captain and their sub-captain.

It helps *A LOT* keeping everyone sorted.

If you haven't watched the series before, I would almost recommend taking out a piece of paper and writing down all the squad captains >.>

In the English manga, Ikkaku liked Ichigo's name because it started with the letter "I," whereas in the English anime, he likes Ichigo's name because of the "Ichi" part, which makes no sense. Was this a mistranslation in the manga, a mistranslation in the anime, or a change made in the Japanese version?

This is my favorite opening out of the 5 of them so far. Ikkaku's and Yumichika's voice sounded pretty good, if you ask me. Yumichika's V/A is Wally Wiggbert(Renji) or someone like that right.

New ending sucks, but I have a feeling it's gonna change and show the other squads... I hope so cause I reallly can't stand those guys...

Besides from that I'm pretty disappointed in Ichigo for not being able to take on baldy a lot faster... but hey I guess everyone here in the soul society is strong. and I was hoping that the guy that came with them would show a little bit more fight in him, but who knows, only time will tell.

Can't wait to see how the hell Ichigo and the gang are gonna get past this one. ^_^!

After a relatively boring entry last week Bleach returns with a vengeance in almost areas of production. The story finally started going with action sequences that move at a good clip, the humor that felt fresh and did not feel like it was rethreading on material that had been overuse. The battles between Ichogo and Ikkaku, and Ganju and Yumichika both work well and gave us a taste of the epic battles that are coming. Voice acting was good, the music did its job and the animation was a big improvement over last week. Now that the Soul Society arc has really started going it looks like we will be getting winners pretty much every time, rather than the hit or miss faze we just went through.

Good episode, I like Ichigo's comment to the Soul Reaper; that is Ichigo is stronger then there is no reason to run from the Soul Reaper and if he isn't the Soul Reaper would catch anyway if he ran.

But the opening it what I will comment on.

This opening is probably the best opening for said series I have ever seen because it deals with the exact story arc the series is dealing with, unlike most opening with are just abstract scenes.

This opening truly sets the mood for this story arc, that Ichigo and his team are going to have to fight the Soul Society and it's going to be an epic fight all the way to the top to save Rukia. :cool:

There's actually a very important reason why this is true. Although they haven't come right out and said it yet, they've already implied it a bit when Ichigo got his Zanpakuto (his true one).

When this is made clear later in this arch, your mind will more then likely be blown away.

It is REALLY cool. It ties very nicely into modern concepts in martial arts too =).

Very surprised, though, that Ganju almost dug his own grave... literally. He's a lot smarter than I take him for granted... even if his escapes are a bit ungraceful.
