Today is March 14 or in mathematical terms 3.14 the first three numbers to pi. But whats more fun than celebrating the mathematical number of Pi is eating it, well the one with the e on the end any way. So lets talk about how delicious pie is and what your favorite flavor is, mine is chocolate silk, so smooth and yummy.

Oh and heres a short article from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pi_Day

I... I feel like less of a nerd for not knowing about this. =(

I don't really like pie. I like pie filling.

Wow I never heard of this before. As for favorite pie, well I don't really eat it that often but I like Lemon Moreange(sp?) pie and Boston Creme pie.

I love pie. My favorites are pumpkin, and sour cream either with blueberries or cherries. Apple and fresh strawberry are also classic favorites. Mud Pie is an awesome ice cream pie. Not a big fan of the lemon meringue and lemon desserts in general.

Wow, I'm so out of it that I completely forgot today was Pi Day. I feel like a failure as a geek.

Death will make me pure!

But seriously, yayness at it being Pi day. But meh, I don't have any math classes this semester, so  .

...I'm really rambling, aren't I?

You fail! PHW's final decision! :p

You're going to make me fall out of my... chair.

Anyway, considering I'm not a math geek (took calculus in both HS and college, now I'm done forever), I'm not surprised I didn't know this... but I like it. Pie is yummy. And pi is just fun.

Oh my. Someone else remembered also. ^____^

It's also traditional to celebrate at 1:59, since the next three numbers in pi after 1 and 4, are 1, 5, and 9. I would have if I wasn't sick and sleeping at the time. =/

LOLS for Pi day. It's funny how even though im in highschool, all the math teachers still love doing fun 'pi' things. There was even a pie eating contest during lunch. Kind of nasty to watch....but still fun!:anime:

Your not less of a nerd your more of a nerd now that you know a new nerdy fact. You can amaze people with that fact now. And I didn't know either until friend at work told me, she said she would bring some pie, I don't know if she did because I don't work today.

I'm so glad I didn't just submit my pi day thread. That would have been embarrassing D:

In any case, this sacred occasion deserves more recognition, like Pirate Day

Perhaps pie stores could get in on it, just like Hallmark does with Valentine's Day

Then years later, people can say: "What are you talking about? Pi Day's ALWAYS been about the pie!"

Then we can have television specials with no-name actors discovering the true meaning of Pi Day.

Happy Pi/Pie Day, everybody! :D

Anyway, my favorite kinds of pies would have to be chocolate, banana cream, pumpkin, apple, and peach cobbler.

I made a song based on Huey Lewis's " the power of Love"

The power of pi is a curious thing
Make a one man get an A, make another man fail
Change a circle to a elliptical shape
More than a circle thats the power of pi

3.1415926548457937598
Longer and longer it keeps going on
Make a bad one good make a wrong one right
Power of pi that keeps you doing homework at night

Chorus 1 :
You dont need paper, dont take pen
Dont need no abacus to calculate
Its strong and its sudden and its cruel sometimes
But it might just save your life
Thats the power of pi
Thats the power of pi

First time you use it, it might make you sad
Next time you use it it might make you mad
But youll be glad baby when youve found
Thats the power makes the circumfrence go round

Chorus 2 :

They say that all in pi ain't round
Yeah, or it could be 22/7
But you know what to do
When it gets hold of you
And with a little help from above
You still don't know the power of pi
3.1415192654
Can you feel it ?
Hmmm

Chorus 3 :

I never knew about this holiday. I wonder if any of my math teachers know about this.

Though I think I'd like to celebrate the one about pies. There's more deliciousness involved. :D
