It's a little of both. For example, one of the extra scenes in Prick Up Your Ears was a shot of naked Peter with his dick in Lois' ear, but in the Fox version all you saw was a black screen. Usually when there is an extra scene, it's a cutaway gag.

If I go by logic, Saturday's Top 3 would probably be Oblongs, Boondocks, then Bleach.
But since Saturday defies logic, I'm gonna go Oblongs, Bleach (3AM), then Big O.

Well... I finally watched "Casinko". I've finally seen every episode of Sealab.
It's kind of sad actually. I mean, this means that there's never that last bit of new Sealab out there for me to see. I've seen it all. It's over. It's done.
And now I miss it.
The episode wasn't that great either but for some reason I enjoyed the hell out of it just because of my love for the show.
It's weird. I mean, it's basically the same feeling I had when I read the bump after "Legacy Of Laughter" way back. I miss the show all over again.
Sure, there's Frisky Dingo, which is grear, but damn... I miss Sealab so much.

I said on the [as] boards that Futurama has a way of leaving Saturdays with a bang, and does so here as well. TB's finale numbers are also pretty nice (more of an audience to pull from Futurama). Bleach does okay as well, consistent from last week.
Looks like I overestimated the amount of people who knew about FG's timeslot change. Chicken, sliding ino 11:00 was able to beat FG. ATHF winds up third. The numbers should get better among the three shows once people realize the new schedule.
Regarding the comment on weekday ratings, last week had some of the highest 18-34 numbers for [as] (499K), however, with weak weekend numbers (especially FG), the weekday numbers had to have boosted to get that average.

It's kind of sad that Sota and Hitomi have more of a relationship than Inuyasha and Kagome.
It's kind of sad that Sota and Hitomi have more of a relationship than Inuyasha and Kagome.
I was thinking the same thing.
And damn, I forgot how many freaking fillers we have until the Band of Seven arc. That arc doesn't start until mid-next week! This must have been torture for Japanese fans.

This is the first time I'm seeing these two episodes.
Now see, why couldn't they have used these to actually develop Inuyasha and Kagome's relationship?
This is my biggest problem with the series. They make these great episodes that look like they're going somewhere and then they drop the ball.

That's what filler does.
I don't blame the filler. This kind of filler is better than the manga frankly. Let me put it this way, if they had followed through with what they were building to in these two episodes instead of the next arc being the Band Of Seven arc, I might've actually cared when the series ended. But as I've said before, the Band Of Seven arc was the nail in the coffin for this series for me personally. I hated that arc and the series never recovered from it in my opinion. Aside from the occasional filler episode that went back to the formula in these two that I actually like.
Honestly, I think the writers of the TV series had more of an idea of where the series was going than Takahashi herself and I think their idea of where it was going was better.
Oh well, I've ranted and ranted and ranted about Inuyasha in the past and the present but it's never going to change sub-par product I got from the show so I might as well shut up about it.

I actually really like the Band of Seven arc. One of the reasons I thought it was so good is that Naraku was barely in it. I actually found the Band of Seven to be more interesting than Naraku. I kind of wish they would have just killed off Naraku and had Inu-yasha fight other villains like the Band of Seven for the rest of the series.

I didn't like the Band of Seven but I agree with the other point. Naraku should've died a long time ago. It really would not have ruined the series for them to actually kill him. A new, more powerful villain could've popped up immediately after. I don't know why Takahashi refused to go that route.

I 100% agree and this is ultimately my main complaint about Inuyasha as a series. (Outside of it's lack of an ending). The Naraku/Kikyo/Inuyasha/Kagome love triangle would have made a fantastic 26 episode series. It would have made an ok 52 episode series. Regardless of how many sword techniques Inu learns, how many times Naraku splits himself off into a more annoying sub-creature, how many times Kagome goes back and forth to McDonalds---------from about episode 26 on, the main plot stays exactly the same. Almost nothing substantive happens to advance the plot or develop the characters and their relationships. What little does occur is almost always forgotten by the next episode. It's almost as if Rumiko only knew how to write a begining and forgot completely about the middle and end. (Hence why it reminds me so much of a soap opera).
The characters themselves, while a little cliche, are for the most part interesting. Having ANY resolution to the Naraku situation would have made the relationship between Inu/Kagome/Kikyo MORE interesting as a result. It also would have been much more worthwhile to revist the old episodes, knowing the journey the characters take actually has a destination.
Most decent writers can produce more than one plot.
The Myst

Which is exactly why I don't consider her a decent writer. I think her works got popular as a fluke thanks to fangirls who ate her work up for the soap opera factor.

Well, Ranma was pretty funny and I've heard a lot of good things about Maison Ikkou.
I just think shonen-type stories aren't her specialty and she never learned to work out what's wrong with her skills.
She's like that prodigy in 7th grade that gets so full of themselves that they never spend any time improving their skills, so they don't show any improvement. What was once a prodigy becomes wasted potential.

What are you talking about? That episode rocked. Really, the only bad part was that the Human Liberation group don't really get much focus in future episodes. I'd love to see them battle Section 9 again should there be a 3rd Gig.
Now, the Kiroro episode of InuYasha, THAT'S bad. Or at least wasted potential. They create a Kirara clone, but they don't really do anything with it. Hell, they don't even have Kirara and Kiroro share a scene together! Instead, they had to focus on freaking Shippo. Seriously, do the Japanese really like Shippo that much?
The Myst

I don't believe that the Japanese actually like Shippo. It just seems too farfetched to me.
Rumiko's been using characters like that as a crutch since Yatsura.

Exactly. Takahashi is better with comedy-oriented stories than shonen-type stories. Ranma and Yatsura worked(putting aside their endings). She's even good with straight up drama stories in modern times(Maison Ikkoku).

The Major was cyberized as a test subject when she was a little girl as well (2nd Gig has an episode dedicated to this) and the daughter went through the whole "cyberization as a test subject" thing, which is why she was kidnapped.

It is, and they really know how to incorporate the action scenes too. The only episode I found a little hard to get through was Chat!Chat!Chat! I definitely had to rewatch that one a few times to make sense of it all. Because a lot of that dialogue flew over my head the first time I heard it.
I remember hating the end of this episode, but after seeing how effectively the Tachis are used in 2nd GIG, I don't find the ending as horrible anymore.
Really? Because even though I know why she did it, I still disagree with her decision. I just feel so bad for the Tachikomas.
And every time I hear that bookworm Tachikoma speak I think of Scheris (it's the same VA, right?). I wish they would show Scryed again, just for the hell of it. That show was hilarious.
Y'know, when watching these in premieres, I thought Inuyasha used his Backlash Wave a lot more...
Really? Because even though I know why she did it, I still disagree with her decision. I just feel so bad for the Tachikomas.
Yea, it's a stupid decision, but the Major makes up for it in 2nd GIG, allowing the Tachis even more freedom than they've ever had before and even using them like true team members.
And every time I hear that bookworm Tachikoma speak I think of Scheris (it's the same VA, right?). I wish they would show Scryed again, just for the hell of it. That show was hilarious.
