So, it's been a while since American Dad has aired on AS. We know they still have the show because Seth McFarlane said at a speech last year that AS still has the rights to it. They have plenty of episodes to air now and they could rerun it on Saturday nights. Still, I have heard no peep from AS about this.
Anyone know?

Personally, I don't know what AS is doing with the show. Especially since they're only a few episodes behind Fox with Family Guy and manage to premiere an episode on that channel every week. And they have reruns every day. Yet they haven't aired an American Dad! episode (new or rerun) in months. AS is probably just being lazy.

You know, I've been wondering the same thing myself. American Dad would be a great addition to the lineup weeknights now, since more than 20 have aired, it wouldn't be overkill. Or heck, 10:00pm weekends would be nice too. Do we really need 2 episodes of Futurama on weeknights? The whole series goes by inside of 6 weeks, and that's not overkill?
Plus, there have been a few episodes I've missed on FOX, mainly the episodes that aired in Sept '06, and would really like to catch one of them.
Is there a legal issue with this show that hasn't been discussed? Anything, something to let us know what's going on with it.

Yeah, I'm a little bit surprised by the lack of American Dad news. My one theory was that AS was waiting for more episodes before starting to air again. But, since FG is airing new episodes on AS two weeks after the FOX broadcast, I don't think that's the case.
Another theory I have is that(unless they say something beforehand) they might air the show again next year when Futurama leaves. This is probably the replacement for Futurama.
When is AS's Upfront?

I'm guessing there's something behind the scenes, likely a Fox issue. That's the only thing that makes any sense to me.

Thanx lot Mugen. I came here specifically to start a thread asking this same question. Glad to see you beat me to it. Saves time and lets me know that Im not the only one concerned.
As far as this issue goes. I had heard that back when AD was airing on adult swim, it was getting better ratings than the FOX airings, so FOX made them take it off for a while. Then I heard we would get it in January, when there was enough episodes to run them continuously. But its now March and still no AD. You know FOX is really startting to piss me off. They complain that they arent getting ratings because of AS, but currently, they arent showing episodes on FOX either. So that means we get no AD anywhere. Honestly, I dont blame Adult Swim (even though they arent perfect) I put this squarely on FOX.
