Heaven help them, they are so screwed.
I can't take Ganju's scene seriously with that music. It's just soooo cheesely dramatic, almost like a parody.

The good thing about the characters being separated is that they won't be overshadowed by Ichigo.
Off topic: I'm starting to agree with Kuwabara. Bleach should pull a YYH, especially since Toonami is starting to allow profanity and excessive violence.

Hahaha. In the Japanese version, Yachiru calls Kenpachi "Ken-chan" (if I recall).
In the dub she refers to him as Kenny (at least, that's what I heard... Is it like this in the viz manga?)
Anyways, yeah, the sorrow music playing in the Ganju scene was a bit over the top, but overall, nice eppy.

I like Yachiru's dub voice. And I loved her saying "Kenny". Glad they came up with a suitable localization of 'Ken-chan'.

Man, I just had the feeling from the beginning that the entire focus of episode would be getting in. Eh, it was still a nice watch, mostly seeing those two bicker with each other the whole way.

The coolest eyes ever!! He kind of looks like me when I don't put my contacts in. *squint*
I need to re-watch the beginning because I was on the edge of falling asleep, but Yachiru's voice is pretty nice. It fits her very well. Seeing some one as sweet looking as her saying 'are you going to kill him?' was a little scary, to tell you the truth :sweat:. lol for Ichigo's bickering.heheh.

On that note. Clip the swearing on this one and it's PG easy. Heck it could have been Y7-FV but I guess the fanservice would make it PG on it's own. I guess the part when Ganju talks about his brother might push it to TV-PG-V. Really though they've swore and implied death on AS with PG so why did this get a TV-14 anyway?
On to the episode. Not all that exciting but the launching sequence was pretty rad (I forgot how elaborate it was). Hebert's Ganju is getting better, he did a good job with the monologue about why he hates Soul Reapers. I forgot about Yoruichi's reaction to Ichigo's grip but that was priceless as was everyone complaining to Ichigo for using too much spirit energy.

That's why I like this show. Ichigo's freakish amount of power is a hindrance more than it is a blessing. Drama.

Well now all the set up, training, and comedy episodes of the Soul Society arch are finally done and we can get down to non stop action, and socking character revelations we have all been waiting for. Overall this episode was okay but not stand out. The comedy work some of the time, but other times it felt like it was going over stuff that been done one to many times (particularly the scenes with Ichigo and Ganju). The breach of the Seireitei was the highlight of the story, and splitting the characters into three groups will give the characters a chance to interact in ways we have not seen before. The animation, and music were both good, and the voice acting was solid. In the end this episode did what it needed to, and the story arch can only get better and more engaging from here on out.

Some will be eaiser to remember than others (Zaraki will be easy since he's out hunting for Ichigo, so he'll have more screen time). Most of the action focuses on Byakuya (Rukia's "brother"), Zaraki (the one with the spikey dreadlocks who has the kid on his shoulder), Gin (smiley face), Aizen (the calm-looking one in the glasses), and Hitsugaya (the silver-haired kid). The rest play their part in the storyline (some much later than others), but those Captains I listed are the biggest players.

I had a feeling one way or another the team would get serperated once they amke it over the rainbow. Oh well I guess that means they will each get their own focus eps. However, I fell sorry for poor chad. Hes all along out there. I hope he find a friend?:sad:

The only ones I can remember the names of are Aizen, Byakuya, Renji, Matsumoto, and Gin so far.

Zaraki and Hitsugaya will have more screentime especially Zaraki. Just give it time. It took me a few more episodes to remember even the main characters.

(It looks like a basket to me) All the captains are strange looking (well, Byakuya and Aizen are probably the most normal looking ones), but this guy especially so. What's he hiding under there? A bad hair day? He can't possibly look weirder than that robot-looking guy...

The character you refer to is Sajin Komamura captain of the 7th division. The reason that he hides his face under a bamboo helmet is because he is self conscious of his appearance, and even latter on in the series when he removes the helmet he is careful hide his true nature with the rest of his clothing. I believe he defiantly qualifies as weirder than the robot looking guy.

What I want to know is...what's the deal with the guy with the basket on his head?? (It looks like a basket to me) All the captains are strange looking (well, Byakuya and Aizen are probably the most normal looking ones), but this guy especially so. What's he hiding under there? A bad hair day? He can't possibly look weirder than that robot-looking guy...
We only just found out about him in the English manga, so it'll be a while in the anime. :sweat:

I still find it funny how Ichigo lowers his spirit energy and yet everyone keeps yelling at him 'You need to go lower!' Otherwise, nothing much happens in this episode. The gang's finally inside the Seiretei, and adorable Yachriu's clipped herself onto Kenpachi's back. Now it should really get good.

Well then I can't wait to see what he looks like, because I didn't think anyone could look more strange than robot man (I need to come up with a new nickname for him but I just really don't know how else to describe that guy...he's so bizarre!)

I'm sure she's ridiculously strong, if he chose her as his vice captain. Unless he really just likes the company of cute pink-haired girls...
I forgot to add earlier that I loved that one scene when Ganju gets separated from the group and has to catch back up...and winds up grabbing onto Ichigo. And then they both start bickering, in the middle of a life-or-death situation. They're like the Odd Couple. I love watching them together.
