He did the BG music for F Troop and for a 1940 Republic serial Zorro's Fighting Legion

Is that tue? Because one of the FTroop themes (the one without singing. I think that was FTroop), sounds very much like Lava's rendition of "Yankee Doodle" in Mad as a Mars Hare. I imagine that is somewhat what his version of Merrily we Roll Along would have sounded like, if he had used that, and not just the The Merry Go Round Broke Down.

[Oh, you know what I'm thinking of? the Murder She Wrote theme! I don't know what I thoght thatw as "FTroop". But from what I remember, F Troop was not that much different in sound.]
