Hey all. I've been trying to find this cartoon short for a while, and was wondering if anyone could help. I believe it's Tom and Jerry (but it could be any cat and mouse) where Jerry pretends to drink nitroglycerin. Tom is then scared that if Jerry falls, he would blow up the house. So Jerry is purposefully jumping around trying to freak Tom out. Does anyone remember this short? Any help would be great! Thanks!! :)

I remember that one, it was one of my favorite Tom & Jerry shorts.
I don't know if it had made it onto the Tome & Jerry Spotlight collection Volume 2, but I know that it wasn't on the first volume.

It's The Missing Mouse, from 1953. It's where Jerry paints himslef white to fool Tom into thinking he's the escaped lab mouse who swallowed explosives. Of course in the end Tom smashes the real lab mouse and the house explodes.

Actually Jerry didn't drink anything in that one. But in a Sylvester cartoon, he's chasing a mouse who pretends drinks nitro or something, but drinks the real thing by accident, kills himself, and then Sylvester does the same thing, so the chase can continue in Heaven. I forget the name of that one at the moment, but it is one of the early 50's Freleng films, when Sylvester would appear outside the Tweety, Speedy or Hippety Hopper chase series more.

If I can hijack the thread to ask my own Tom & Jerry question..... :)
What's the one where Tom whips up a deadly concoction to kill Jerry, only it instead makes him powerful, and he starts beating up on Tom and can't be stopped by anything until it wears off? At the end, Tom drinks some himself, but it has the opposite affect and makes him shrink. That's probably my favorite T&J short. I loved it when I was little.

Slightly of topic, but Tom and Jerry related!
There is a DVD replacement program for, I believe two DVDs' of Tom and Jerry Spotlight Collection Vol. 1 and 2.
How does it work?
Do WB send you the DVDs' by mail, or do you have to send the DVDs' to them, if you want them replaced? Thank you for your time.

I'm sure that it's a banned cartoon!:(

Virtually banned now because of the stupid internal bureaucracy of TW/Turner, where they would make Boomerang pay to air it, and the other post-48 films, so they don't air it at all. But before this madness, they used to air it, plus on Nick or whoever had the rights to it before.
