View Full Version : How Boomerrang SHOULD be run

Is it just me or are you getting tired of going month to month with either the same old shows repeating over and over (i.e. Chan Clan & Jabberjaw - I love them both but they only have 16 episodes each. Give them a rest now and then!) or new shows that don't make sense (Krypto/Gerald - Hey me VP exec, just because you guys bought new shows, does NOT make them classics yet. The audience makes them classics, not you getting your moneys worth on stupid new shows).

I read in a blog not so long ago an idea for a Boomerang kids block (Yo Yogi, Pup named Scooby, Flinstone Kids, etc.). Now THAT is how a kids block should be run.

How about some classic shows - Pink Panther, Popeye, Scooby. I love them all but instead of showing the same ones 2 or 3 times a day, why not rotate different (classic) genres (ie - Pink Panther & Sons, Popeye & Scooby from the 80's, etc.)

What about the Zoo? I like the Zoo. But why not only show charecters that are not shown in the HB shows later that day. Why show Yogi if he is on again in 2 hours? Or better yet, show Yogi on the Zoo and give me Galaxy Goofs, Yogi's Treasure Hunt, etc.

I also agree with many of you on a evening Boomeraction show. Show more Superfriends (different ones), Centurions, M.A.S.K., Thundarr, Dragon's Lair, etc.

Last but not least, show more from the 80's!!!!!!!!!!!! They have a whole untapped library that is just being wasted. Go back and look at any saturday morning line up from the 80's and the only thing you ever see is Smurfs, Snorks, & Richie Rich. So much Hanna Barbara & Ruby Spears stuff that they can show (Alvin, Puppy's adventures, Casper, GI Joe, Heathcliff, Godzilla, Shirt Tales, etc.)

Show more shows, not as many times a day. That is the key. Weekends should be set apart. they should be more themed like they used to. Do the weekends from a certain year.

I know my ramblings may fall on deaf ears, but hey it doesn't hurt to vent....

P.S. If anyone has any access to the show PANDAMONIUM, it was my favorite and I would LOVE to get it. Please e-mail if you do at sloppyjoetidd@aol.com. thanks.

I'd love to see Pound Puppies, Jem, The Mask, Beetlejuice, and the Scrappy era episodes of Scooby Doo (mainly New Mysteries and 13 Ghosts).

But I'll be happy with pretty much anything 80's/early 90's that hasn't been shown in a while.

I don't think WB has The Mask TV Series

Here's what i would like

I think i might've gone a little too far, but whatever

simple to understand. Bold is New to Boomerang, Italicated is the encore of most recent aired show. Colors represent different blocks.

All the shows on weekdays have at least 35+ Episodes, though some do exclude this rule.

Sorry for eye-strain, i uploaded it all at once

please comment on my sched

This is what I would like to see

Less 90s/early 00s shows. It's too soon to have shows from these decades on Boomerang in my opinion. Show more stuff from the 30s-80s.

Limit each show to 1-2 showings a day. No repeats, that's how people get tired of shows.

More variety, HB shows are good but we need more shows from other animation studios too.

It can be easily aquired, just like they got Dennis the Menace, G.I. Joe and Garfield & Friends.

I agree, we need more stuff from the 80's. Why we never get to see the classic He-Man, The Thundercats, classic Transformers and GI Joe on Boomerang. And why is Voltron on The Cartoon Network and not Boomerang? Where's Alvin and the Chipmonks? Where's Battle of the Planets?

This is just my opinion, but I think what any network should do is do a complete run of a series a certain number of times then give it a couple of months hiatus.

For instance if they were showing a series like He-Man which was like 130 episodes or whatever, show all the episodes twice then shelf it for maybe 3 months. If the series is fewer episodes like 1-64 or 98 then run it 3-5 times depending on the actually length of the series. If the show was a Freakazoid or Earthworm Jim length series (about 24 episodes each) then run it 5 times before you change up.If it's more episodes adjust accordingly.

People get tired of the same thing over and over again, but I can tell you without a doubt they also don't want the shows gone forever, that happened to me with Nick at Nite and TV Land.

What do ya think? am I a mad genius or a blithering idiot?
Please be kind I'm fragile.:crying:

First off, they should show all of the theatrical cartoons and movies uncut because All animation fans love to see the Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry uncut and all of the Max Fleisher shorts in their original black and white forms. Not to mention better animated films like the stuff they used to show back in the day, also some great cult animated movies like Animalympics, Ralph Bakshi's Wizards, Watership Down (all of them uncut of course), and possably a ANIMATED Disney movie or two?

Secondly they should show all of the great saturday morning shows that we all grew up with like The Real Ghostbusters, Heathcliff and the Caddilac Cats, The Transformers, Spider-Man & his Amazing Friends, all of the cartoon shows based on the classic video game we used to play (Saturday Supercade, Captain N the Game Master, The Legend of Zelda and all of the Super Mario shows), and maybe some of the old anime from back in the day like Gatchaman, Voltron, Astroboy and maybe even the Dragon ball shows but with revised dialoge.

Third, THEY SHOULD STOP RERUNNING ALL OF THE SO-CALLED "CLASSICS" like Duck Dogers, Gerald McBoingBoing, Krypto and all of the other crapola.

I wish they would stop doing they three hour-long marathons of the Smurfs and Pink Panther. It's just not cool and it's actually annoying.

I wish they would put on more action shows to live the channel up. It currently has the metabolism of a very very ill 40-year-old man. I wish would put on Pirates of Dark Water, Voltron, G-Force, Thundercats, Cow and Chicken, Beetlejuice, The Addams Family, I.M. Weasal, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, and Batman Beyond.

I'd like for Boomerang to get the broadcast rights to Filmation's Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids, Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle, The Archies, Groovie Goolies, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra, Princess of Power. In my opinion, they're all Boomerang broadcasting material.

So you'd rather they not have a character of the month?

A different show gets the treatment every 4 weeks, so really you shouldn't complain.

I was read Shout! factory boards, and one of the people who works there, said they try to get the rights to M.A.S.K to put it on dvd, but for some reason DiC, didnt own the rights.
