I really enjoyed the first few episodes of God, the Devil and Bob. I know they had 13 episodes completed before they were shut down. Do you think this show would fit into Adult Swim's line up and if so, what are the chances that Williams Street might pick it up?

Probably really slim as of now.. I think. There is a good number of people who generally did not like the show - I have never seen it personally - and some networks won't let go of their own shows, even if cancelled, for at least awhile.

A good number of people saw God, The Devil and Bob?

Heh, I don't know really. I didn't see it. Did you?

No, I had no idea when it was on and by the time I heard about it it was too late.

I remember hearing about it because of all the controversy it caused... you know, some local stations not showing the show. But controversy isn't enough to make me want to watch a show, nor a movie. And I didn't read or hear any good reviews about it... so I didn't tune in.

The jury is still out in my case. On one I'd love to see it again (I was one of the five fans that actually watcjed it "religiously", pardon the pun). On the other hand, I would really hate to see the comedy portion of Adult Swim turn into "The Land that Broadcast Television Forgot". It's turning into that already.

What was the show about anyway?

Perhaps there is a fan site out there about it. I doubt it though.
I do remember French Stewart voicing Bob, and Bob is sometimes befriended by God occasionally, but don't count on what I've said -- I never seen it, and my sketchy memory is from advertisements from when it was released.
Ask pepsiweasel when the person comes back, or something.

Victor French voiced Bob, Alan Cummings voiced The Devil and James Garner voiced God. Basically it's God will destroy the earth unless the person, chosen by the Devil, can prove mankind is worth saving. Of course, The Devil constantly tempts Bob. Funny show. :bosko:

Good summary. I just remember laughing non-stop to this show and being incredibly pissed off when it got taken off. Maybe some fellow at Williams Street will stop in this forum and see how much God, the devil, and bob is wanted.
The problem with the original launch was that NBC basically went into the show like it was controversial when it wasn't very bad at all.
Anyway, all I really remember is the animation was cool and god was a lot like Jerry Garcia.

There is an offical website for the show. It hasn't been updated in awhile, but it has a few downloads like wall papers and animated ad. If Williams St. can afford the show, it would be a great addition to AS. I know 13 episodes were completed, and NBC only aired a few of them.
