Must've missed it while making the talkback. Didn't realize it had been updated...

The only things I remember about "West Side Story" (which this episode's title and B-plot are based on) was that it was West vs. East and that it was a musical. Remember watching it back in grade school in music class. Oy, that was so long ago...

As for the episode itself... better than last week's, if anything.

The main Kim-Kam plot is your basic 'disagree until they figure out they have to work together to survive/make everything right' deal, though the writers did try to throw in a few unexpected twists - the '3 objects and the river' test; the 'Survivor' vote out of both twins, and Kam conquering his fear of flying through a flock of mallards while handgliding. Yeah, the last one was insanely odd...

A nice homage with Eddie and the coyote! :D

The Westley-Eastley battle is mostly forgettable, especially given the 'evil' twins of the gang on the opposing side. Two memorable sets of lines/situations, though...

Eddie: "We've been served again!"
Philly Phil: "That's twice the daily recommended serving!"

Madison: "They turned my violin into an expensive clarinet!"
Madison goes to work destroying it when Eddie comes walking up with her instrument... and seeing her bash his into several pieces.

As for this week's music video, kinda like last week's... sounds good, but the visuals are out there. Then again, the visuals this week made a little more sense than the whole 'UFO Ninjas' theme from last week. Which I'm still trying to make heads-or-tails of.

"Westley Side Story": 3.5/5.

I like "twin humour" So the focus on Kim and Kam was fun. The rock climb was my favorite part. Madison falling like a ballerina and PhillyPhil crushing his,,, cookies. For that matter, anytime Madison opens her mouth, it's funny.

This episode was real funny a definite improvement from last weeks. I wish Kim and Kam got to sing in their song though

Sunny and that "Precious" talk and the gratuitous use of Gandalf's tone in screaming "THIS SHALL NOT PASS!!" really brings out some Lord of the Rings references.

All:

I think the jazzy music worked better without too many vocals. And I think Janice Kawaye (voice of Kim & Kam) did well. I know she's an actress and is paid to..well, act; but she sounded like she was really into her vocalization for the song. The "wooo" at the end sounded genuine.

Well, she WAS thi voice of Ami Onuki on Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi. A role of which I shall never forget.

Yoshi:

Think about this, tho. Did either Janice Kawaye or Grey DeLisle ever sing as their characters? Not just full-blown songs (which would defeat the purpose of promoting Puffy) but ever? Not that I can recall.

Which makes her outing in Class of 3000 more intriguing to me. The cast sings on every episode. There are few shows where I can recall Janice singing. The other 3000 vets, I have heard sing plenty of times. I'd be interested in hearing her belt out a song.

Well, no. But it's not like the real Ami & Yumi would do worse voicing their animated counterparts complete with Japanese accents that would make Kahn from King of the Hill seem tolerable. YOU HEAR THAT, HILLBILLIES? LAOS RULES!!! HA-HA-HA-HA!

Kahn is one of my favorite characters in that show! He is hilarious!

Anyway, I'm with RskimB, I wish Kim & Kam got to sing on their own instead of repeated "I hear ya" and "Unh!" I liked it, but Janice Kawaye belt one out!!

If it isn't obvious, I'm a big fan of her work.
