Lucky shot, says I.

Still, a victory is a victory. Now lets just hope they don't pile on too many Naruto and/or Xiaolin marathons, because it's bound to wear thin.

and yet XS is still cancelled, even though an incredible success for CN.

Its not luck my friend,
with the crap Nick is airing these day's its not suprising at all. Heck all they air is new Sponge Bob episodes or a marrtathon of Sponge Bob or live action shows. So if they don't air any thing new for other shows of course other Networks are going to better. But yah too bad XS is still canncled, hmm any thoughts CN could give it a fourth season? Oh know than it would canncle my other favorite show Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue, decisions, decsions

Actually, it's that "crap" that has Nick winning in ratings most of the time.

Didn't happen this time, but most of the time, Nick beats CN in ratings.

I know it brings in ratings but my brother said that he is sick of Naruto marathons

Which I can't figure out why.

Woah! Naruto helped CN beat Nick and Disney. (Or was it Xiaolin Showdown)

Why do I have a feeling there are going to be more marathons.

I think this should be posted in the Toonami form as well.

As long as Naruto rakes in the ratings, I see no end to the Narutothons in sight.

That's good news. CN needs to build upon this now. If Xialin Showdown is a big succes for them, they should order a new season.

And it seems like CN does it's best with action shows these days. I wouldn't be shocked to see them move a little more in that direction over the coming year.

Well don't forget KidsWB was the ones who cancelled it since it reached it's 52 ep limit (for some reason KidsWB likes they're own shows ending at 52 and then making new ones) and CN only picked it up over six months ago. I would say that there is some chance that it could come back with new eps on CN, but I"m pretty sure Cartoon Network would just rather make a show like Xialoin Showdown to generate those ratings then continue the show. Since CN also seems to have a policy about shows lasting a certain amount of time (why else would they have let Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy end?)

Which I can't figure out why.

To phrase this in the nicest way possible, the shows that Nickeloden creates and shows are more appealing to the sought after 2-11/9/14/6-11 demographic then Cartoon Network's programming. There's probably some long indepth scientific reason why but kids just like it more. Probably due to really liking Spongebob and wantign to see everything else on the network as well.

You would think so, wouldn't you? But don't forget that Dragonball Z was the highest rated thing on Cartoon Network whenever it had news eps and CN didn't exactly flock to the idea of having an over abundance of action shows. At most we're going to see a lot more action/comedy hybrids for kids in the style of Teen Titans/Ben 10 then anything more out there. CN still likes playing it safe with the overall ideas of they're network.

Still glad to hear XS and Naruto (well mainly Naruto truthfully) bringing in the ratings. Yeah this will probably lead to more Naruto Marathons (I'm not sure when the next one will be but probably at least by the time they air episode 90 they'll have another one) but that isn't totally a bad thing as long as it's only one week and they air the regular Toonami show schedule after that and not just have marathon after Marathon, espically of just repeat eps.

You name their biggest ratings grabber and then act like Nickelodeon hasn't been airing live-action shows since the 80's. Not really sure what you're getting at.

Which I can't figure out why. Probably because they're good shows. ;)

Surprised Naruto is doing well? Not really. Not even surprised that XS is doing well. I guess I am surprised they beat Nick and Disney for a day with anything though.

Yeah, Every show must end because everything gets old and stale after a while.

While Nick won't even end their shows unless it brings them big ratings because why create new shows when we can rerun Spongebob 8x a day.

Like I said in the Naruto ratings thread on the Toonami board, I'm still surprised CN beat Nick (and Disney). Naruto and XS prove they are ratings grabbers.

It's good to know Xiaolin is finding success after death, but if I remember correctly, this was the last hurrah for XS on Cartoon Network.

I've never been too fond of XS beyond its pilot ep - which was excellent - and the dragon's always gotten on my nerves. His cowardice isn't funny IMO. So many times when he and the gang are facing danger he just crawls around like a yakky caterpillar, cowering and sniveling. Excuse me? This dragon has the ability to get very very big in a hurry, and when he is big, he has a mouthful of what look like razor-sharp teeth. Dojo is what Eduardo used to be in FHFIF, but thankfully Eduardo has evolved from his cliche beginnings. But of course my disdain for Dojo might just be because I like dragons as characters and I expect too much of them I guess (I didn't like Mushu from Mulan either). Nevertheless I'm glad CN got such a good showing from XS and especially from Naruto. I love that show.
