I'll get the reviews done on Tuesday, I swear.
I don't have classes that day, so I should be able to get them done.
B Not bad my any means, I thought Brendon "being on drugs" was funny as well as the dog. Paulas search for a new job ,while was better then Paula with her boss, didn't make me laugh to hard. Also Jason's ego trip was all so pretty funny, but overall I felt a lack of really laugh out loud moments.

This episode is simply the best episode from the second season as of yet. It's nearly flawless; not a moment wasted. Where the past three episodes failed this one succeeded; "Hiatus" had many funny moments, the best one being the Jazz sequences, but there were also some stale, unfunny moments. This episode was entirely funny.
Best of the best moments: Jason talking to Brendon at his house; Paula's conversations with Erik; any scene involving Melissa - especially when we catch her talking with Paula; the misunderstood conversation between Brendon and McGuirk about Brendon being a drug user; etc, etc, etc.
This episode works because it doesn't seem to try too hard. It doesn't have to introduce numerous characters to go for laughs -- it sticks with the main characters and succeeds.
It is also the first episode in the second season where Jason and Erik had more than three minutes of screen time. A great, great episode. A+

This ep. was great because most of the things that happened in it have happened to me.
-Being stuck between two friends and being screwed in the end.
-Lie about a job and then cant do it.
-A dog named MR. that was a girl.
Plus Eric was in it! I liked the Blind Date parody too.

This week's Adult Swim wasn't so great this week, IMO. This week's Home Movies was not good at all. Brendon's friend who calls at 4:00 a.m. (Jason, was it?) was so annoying. He reminded me of SNL's Horatio Sanz (not a good thing). There were a couple of laughs (the scenes with Mcgurk and Brendon being the only ones), but this is no way better than last week's Hiatus. Big Thumbs down from me. D.

This episode seemed a bit on the dull side. Maybe I was just tired. I don't know. There was some funny moments like Brendon's realization that Mr. Freckles was a girl and the whole bit with Paula and Melissa. But Jason just wasn't funny to me. B-

It was pretty funny. The drug user part and the Mr. Freckles parts were hilarious.

"Funny"? "Great"? "The best"?! Did we watch the same episode?
Let's see if I have this correct: Jason becomes this psycho who calls Brendon at 4 in the morning just for a bigger part. Then McGuirk believes Brendon's lateness and tired demeanor to be the symptoms of a drug addict. He also ends up having to take care of an old, diahrreatic (sp?) dog (which looks like it wandered off the set of some low-IQ grossout flick). Eventually, McGuirk "outs" him as a junkie. And at the end, how is Brendon rewarded for all this? He ends up as the waiter in the movie he was directing. Just wanted to make sure I got that straight.
What did I like about the episode? For me, at least, it's no small stretch to say that the scenes with Paula and Erik (together and individually) rescued this episode. It was also nice to see Brendon's little sister again. I was afraid the makers pulled a 'Judy Winslow' on us. Also, there's something about the line "You're doing a very good job of not moving." that makes me crack a smile.

The first half was the sad part. I didn't laugh once. the second half was better, though.
It was pretty good ^_^ and overall A rating.

Short and sweet. D rating. Only thing that made me laugh was the good job of not moving.

I'd have to say it was very funny. I also have to wonder why people think the first season was better than these episodes. Second season is far superior. There were episodes like Method of Acting, Get Away from my Mom, and Fish Eye Lens that I did not laugh at, through the entire episode. Yet I've laughed through every single one of the new episodes.
Why is everyone being so overcritical? :(

Here's why I said it's the best episode of the season and it's an A+ and such:
it's because it didn't seem like they tried too hard. And I, personally, LOVE the first season. "Life Through A Fish Eye Lens" was fantastic.
This season contained the worst HM episode - "Identifying A Body" - and, perhaps some of the better HM episodes - "Politics," and "Business & Pleasure." I do notice that I am usually not with the majority on HM episode opinions. I loved "Politics" while most said they wanted the first season back, or it simply wasn't funny, or the Flash animation sucked, or etc, etc, etc.
If you notice, this episode - "Business & Pleasure" - was a big change from the past two episodes. It felt different, IMO.
HM works in the lines spoken by the voice actors. And that's where this episode was primarily aimed at; yes, so was "Hiatus" and "Identifying A Body." But "Hiatus" needed the Jazz scene to make us laugh. Yes, of course, it was indeed funny, but wasn't it more funny when they stop the tape and comment on how crappy it was?
The dialouge is what hooked me onto the show. "Hiatus," and even more so, "Identifying A Body," lacked what could of been great dialogue some of the time. "Business & Pleasure" didn't really have any flashy colorful scenes, but a lot of awkward conversations. Paula's conversation with Jason on the phone at four in the morning is nearly flawless, IMO.
I do really like "Hiatus" -- but I like "Business & Pleasure" even more so. "Identifying A Body" was a big disapointment to me.
Perhaps I'm going into too much detail, but I'm obsessed with this show. I can't really help it.
I would withhold judgement of which seasons better until this season is complete.

By and large, I agree with most of what's been said already. I loved the return of Erik (he's one of my favorites), and his interactions with Paula were great (Although they could have covered more story if they were dating... THAT would be interesting). McGuirk was McGuirk as always, truely hilarious. The intervention was the crowning touch. Melissa got a bit more screentime, which was good, and she was funny too. The conversation she and Brendan had over dinner on their filmed blind date, using the chicken as a metaphor for everything from living prospects to sex, was pretty funny as well. The only bad part about this episode? I never thought I'd say this, but Jason was just....weird. I mean, Jason's always weird, but this time, calling at 4 in the morning and obssessively giving Brendan his animal blocks was almost Hitchcockian in its creepiness. One of the charming parts about Jason so far has been that, despite first impressions, he's more or less the sanest, most reasonable character in the show (save the parents). This kind of seemd to break with that. Maybe I'm just being too observant there though. Anyway, great episode, catch it Thursday if you missed it.

Cheers:
-Brendon kissing the fish lips on the block
-H. Jon Benjamin's voice when he's interviewing Paula for the job at that monkey-man place
-McGuirk staging an intervention for Brendan in order to gain credibility as a leader
-Paula kissing Brendan
-Jason as a waiter
Jeers:
-The whole depressing Mr. Freckles bit
-Jason's creepy nightlife and room
-The weird chicken innuendo in the restaurant scene
-Brendan as a waiter

How cute was this episode? I mean come on! Yall know you agree with me! This episode got the laughs and the drug accusing! McGuirk was stupid thinking a soccer player would take some drugs. (Even though Brendon and the whole team is bad) It was so cool. Erik trying to fix Paula up with a job. Thats so typical. Well, atleast McGuirk has something to blab his big mouth at the whole episode-drugs :) Basically what I am trying to say....This Episode Rox and I do recomend it!
Grade-F Kidding! An A+++
Note-McGuirk drinks pee! (Yea I know thats from the episode "Yoko" I just thought that since its a home movies review,I might try and embarass McGuirk!)

Shame on you meatwad. McGuirk bought that canteen new for that camping trip, plus, now the turkey tastes like pee turkey, AND he forgot his toothbrush. Just think how you would feel if that happened to you. ;)

Like many Home Movies episodes, this one ran on clever dialogue. The "Blocks" scene was better than it should have been. In any other show it would have been deemed stupid and pointless, but it in Home Movies it falls in well with everything else. Coach McGuirck accusing Brendon of being a drug addict give you the usual laughs from his level-headed seriousness while still being funny. Mr. Freckles was a good add-on, but could have been better. I once again felt myself wanting more after the episode ended. Good stuff.

I personally thought this episode was the best Jason episode ever. Come on, the whole Jason freaking out parts were hilarious, even though it didn't make much sense. Why was he freaking out? Was it because he was jealous over not being too involved with the movies, or was it because he secretly likes Melissa? I didn't totally understand that part, but it was freaking funny though. Overall, a great episode. One of my personal favorites.
Good points:
Jason!
Melissa was really cute. I love the wig!
George. It was pretty freaky. I like freaky.
The movie posters.
The Erik and Paula scenes. :)
Bad Points:
The old dog subplot. I thought it was pretty stupid. It seemed to be just an excuse to put in some poo humor.
The Coach telling Brendon that he's on drugs. I didn't find it too funny, except for when the Coach tells the other kids about Brendon's "problem".
Best Line:
Jason: "The romantic comedy is dead! Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte KILLED IT!"
(I do believe that's the correct quote, but I could be wrong.)
Overall grade:
A-

I saw some of it like the Part about Mcgirk thinking brendon was day trading online, then on drugs.
also love that the squigglevision is gone!
I can't give a definitive review, but from what I saw I'd say a B+.

I liked the episode alot and seriously, I don't rate the episodes compared to the others. I let them stand on their owna nd how each one stacked up and by that system alone this was a great episode, funnya nd smart like all the rest of them. This series hasn't made one bad episode yet. Yeah some don't stack up to the others but thats completely normal...
The newer episodes definetly are of a better breed, but peoplre need time to adjust to change.
" I was afraid the makers pulled a 'Judy Winslow' on us "
Ha. Yeah I Hate that. I mean one second (I think for 2 or 3 seasons) she's their, next thing you know she's gone and everyone acts like she never exsisted.. Atleast make up a lie about selling her to a family of traveling acrobats or that she moved in with a Cousin who plans on never letting her visit home ever again.... Nooo, they can't do that, It's just, let's just act like she was never here, no one will notice, except mabey the millions that watched the first few seasons... I'm glad that HM didn't pull a JW... I'd so be pissed...
I'm sure HM knows better, If they get a need to get rid of the character they could Have an ep where ..
Brenden's like where's the baby ?
