Yup, "Transformers: Heroes".

This is what's been circulating about it so far that I know of:

Right now everyone there is excited about the movie, and Brian may well sign off on the idea of hiring one (or both) of the Beast Wars guys to showrun TFH since he knows how good they are at telling a great story, which is his main agenda right now.

...that might be kindof hard considering Bob Forward is dead.

Tom Kenny sounds neat, depending on the character he's voicing. I think XS proved he can do serious characters as well as comedic ones... but no Gary Chalk or Peter Cullen as Prime?

For shame.

Bob Forward is dead?! Since when??

And the rumor going around is that David Kaye AKA Megatron since Beast Wars and Prof X in X-Men Evolution was going to voice Prime. Yeah a bit of an ironic twist.

According to the Transformers wiki he's still alive. His dad passed away in 2002 though. So that might be where the confusion comes from.

finally...a new series to look forward to! I hated RID, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron.

If it's half as good as Cybertron (which has been the best Transformers cartoon to air in the US), I'll be interested. PLEASE let the Cybertron designer and Gonzo stay on the staff!

The rumor has it that CN studios will handle Heroes, thus neither of them would stay on staff.

My expectations have now dropped dramatically. Who's the designer/animation studio going to be?

Well, it's rumored that these may be some of the designs:

Stupid decision. There's never been a good American made Transformers. They should have stuck with the Cybertron crew.

You didn't like Beast Wars or the original Transformers?

He made it quite clear he wasn't a big Beast Wars fan back in the Anime Forum. I personally think it had only one great season (Season 2), while the other seasons were decent-to-good, but very clumsy.

Since Beast Wars was animated by Mainframe, a Vancouver-based CG animation studio, and voiced by The Ocean Group, a Vancouver-based voice studio, wouldn't that make Beast Wars Canadian?

Maybe CN has Moonscoop animate the show. They've worked with the frenchies on Fantastic 4, and they have a working relation with them, so it wouldn't be unprecedented.

Either that, or whoever animated the Hellboy movie that aired on CN recently. I did like Sean Galloway's designs, and the art he showcased in a link mentioned earlier was pretty cool. A return to 2D Transformers would be great after the abysmal look of them in all the recent series. CG Transformers just look so bland and uninteresting (I did like Beast Wars though, but that was all Mainframe).

Good, it's still there. For a second you had me worried Canada had been ripped away from North America, or something like that.

...And it would be animated by a japanese studio again, then. Though this time it would be Madhouse.

EDIT: I just noticed this. According to TV-Tokyo's schedule, they're reairing the mainframe series, Beast Wars. I really hope they reair Beast Wars II as well, as I've been wanting to see this for some time.

Hehehehe...girly-screem Megatron :p

Personally I too thought the Energon CGI was bad, especially since the designs felt bulky and cumbersome but I thought it worked for Cybertron. One thing that's good with the CGI is that they look like the toys and vice versa. They can design them both at the same time and make them be accurate to one another ALMOST completly. There's less cheating possible than with 2D animation ya know.

Semi-fixed, because of Hasbro localization issues.

Any toon will more than likely be a semi-sequel to the movie.

My only real issue with Cybertron in dub form was them screwing around with the dialogue in transformation scenes and the like.

That is Holy and should never be tampered with!

Interesting...I want to see how this turns out. I recently haven't been happy with the Transformer series like Cybertron and Energon, ut Armade was aight. Yet, Beast Wars and the original Transformers was the best. And if it comes close to that, you have a fan right here.

Now Corey Burton is linked to possibly voicing Megatron in the new TF show: http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=9370 A neat choice, considering outside of the various other roles he did in G1 like Spike and Brawn, he also voiced Shockwave as well as Dooku in CN's Clone Wars shorts and S:TAS Brainiac. So he's got a good range of villainy there.

I remember somebody here wanted Burton to be Unicron in Armada. Well, they're one step closer. :P
