I really don't know one case where CN originals appeared on non-CN stations. Any past and/or present cases of that? It'd be pretty cool to be able to watch some of the stuff they've ditched a long time ago somewhere else (not gonna buy every DVD).

If anyone's willing to buy the shows for syndication.
No one likes classics anymore, The ones who might are networks with dedicated staff and a dedicated theme.

Shows can only be put into syndication if their original rights holders allow them to be. Your random local low-wattage TV station can't just call up Time Warner and say "Hey, how much for some Dexter's Laboratory episodes to fill our Saturday morning airtime?" And given that Time Warner/Cartoon Network has complete and total control over all of these properties to do with and release or not release as they see fit, you will not be seeing them in syndication any time soon. This is going to be a very short thread.

I remember that they did play Dexter on some local channel in my area like six or seven years ago. Other than shows that have been played on Kids WB that's all that I can think of.

Wasn't or isn't "The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest" supposedly in syndication for awhile (or is it still?)??? I'm talking about the '96 series by the way. Which hasn't appeared on Boomerang to this day ever since it started up almost 7 years ago. Correct me if I'm wrong..........
Turner pulled most if not all of their H-B/MGM/WB properties from syndication not too long after Cartoon Network started up. I'd say that by 1995 all of their properties were gone from syndication.

One reason for the blandness of TV these days is that the mega-conglomerates that own most media outlets don't want to air anything that they don't own lock, stock and barrel---or allow anything they own to air on some other network/syndication/etc. Thus, only Disney stuff on ABC Kids, Time-Warner stuff on Kids WB, etc. (Vaguely related exclusive-licensing deals----see: CBS/NBC's lineups).
There's also a lot more stuff made for syndication for adults nowadays---infomercials, judge shows, talk shows all rule the syndication roost these days. TV stations also hate running kids shows, it seems.
Thus, in 1987, I could've seen the Flintstones in syndication on any station that wanted to carry it; these days, they can only be seen on Boomerang (if Boomerang deems to air it at *all*---another problem with such "vertical integration" show-handling policies: if the show's corporate owner doesn't want to air it on any of the networks it owns, it'll usually never see the light of day again, barring a DVD release).
