I decided to make a thread to cover the various news and schedule changes that happen on the CN's around the world. I know that there are many people on this forum who are around the world, so it would be interesting to hear about their CN's. Also, Toonami and Adult Swim discussions are allowed here. Let me start it off:
- Starting January 16th, MAR will be joining the Cartoon Network Australia lineup. It will air Monday-Friday at 6 pm.
- It seems Ghost in the Shell has started airing on Adult Swim Australia. Also, Gundam SEED is still on the block, which is good news for Gundam fans.
- Over on the CN Latin America front, Naruto and Viewtiful Joe joins the Toonami lineup. The shows join a diverse block that features Inuyasha, Knights of the Zodiac(Saint Seiya), Samurai Champloo, Ranma 1/2, Samurai X(Rurouni Kenshin), Zatch Bell, Dragonball Z and Pokemon(sorry Sketch, it's on their Toonami too:sweat:).

My word it's on Latin America Toonami still? But that means they air Pokemon at some obscene time of night doesn't it?
MAR on CN Australia is neat. I hope they also get Prince of Tennis soon but I'm a bit surprised they got MAR before Bleach.

Yeah, Pokemon airs at 10 pm and has a full hour at 3 in the mourning. Be glad that our Toonami limits it to a half-hour.
I'm also surprised MAR has come so quickly to Australia. I was thinking it would debut this Fall, but I'm clearly wrong.

Looks like TMNT 2003 has been moved out of Toonami India and put at 11 am. And it's starting from the first episode. The funny thing is, the description for the show is for the old TMNT show.:anime:
Also, one has to wonder when Gundam SEED Destiny will start airing on Adult Swim Australia. It seems Gundam SEED has been on the block for a while.

Pokemon is on most Toonami blocks around the world.
Also... I half wonder if that look for Toonami (Game On... I guess) is what we'll be seeing in March in the US.
MAR is apparently replacing Naruto for the moment. One hyper active spikey haired blonde shounen hero for another I guess...
I gotta say though CN Australia's line-up is chock full of stuff I'd love to watch. Not the least of which being TMNT 2K3, DB, DBZ, MAR and Zatch Bell all on weekdays. Good times.

Looks like the Van Helsing animated DTV movie is going to air on CN Japan. It'll be part of their "Cartoon Network Midnight" showing.
Oh, and IGPX is still part of the Toonami Japan lineup.

Also... I half wonder if that look for Toonami (Game On... I guess) is what we'll be seeing in March in the US.Dear Kami, I hope not. The "Game On" slogan is already used for the most loathsome show on the block (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX) and I doubt they'd want the premiere block on the network to be associated with that show's slogan.
Also, the graphics look like the Now/Next bumps on Cartoon Network proper, so, I would pray that the "new look" would in no way resemble that.
If it does, we riot.

Cartoon Network Latin America will air (http://papodebudega.blogspot.com/2007/01/anima-info-200.html) Saint Seiya - Hades Phase starting March 12 at 12:30 a.m. Thanks, Sandra Monte

Though I can't watch it anymore, CN Japan is airing Slayers Next on Toonami and the American Tranformers.
And apparently they now have a block called World Tour, where they show cartoons from all parts of the world. Right now they're highlighting Canada, with cartoons like Angela Anaconda, Babar, and Atomic Betty.
How cool is that?
And it looks like they'll finally air the last season of Teen Titans.

I'm sorry?
Personally I think there are better shows moving through Canada. The origination seems to be a bit weak.
Jacob Two-Two is the best show I link direct from Canada. I rather like it though it's below my age limit.

In Europe there are several versions of CN (UK,France,Spain,Italy,Poland,Nordic,Germany-new,Russia) For the other countries which don't have versions of their own, there's CN Europe,Middle East & Africa. It still has all the old Cartoon Cartoons and all the new ones, but unfortunately doesn't have Toonami. It's also commercial free.
France has the best of everything, they have Cartoon Cartoons, new stuff,Toonami (Justice League,Batman, not that much Anime - Detective Conan,Naruto),Scoobi Doo,Tom and Jerry,Looney Tunes and Tex Avery.
Poland is simmilar to France, even better in fact, only it still has The Flintstones and no anime on Toonami.
Spain has a lot of anime, not just in Toonami. They have Oliver & Benji,Mirmo,Detective Conan,Shin-Chan,Saint Seiya, some Cartoon Cartoons (PPG,Eds,Cow & Chicken,Billy & Mendy) and the new stuff. It's strange that they don't have any kind of Scooby Doo,not even WNSD?
Germany's version started lastr year and it has only some Cartoon Cartoons and some new stuff.

Looks like they're taking a tip from CN US as to where to air Pokemon premieres. When CN AU still had Toonami that's where all the Pokemon episodes premeired IIRC but I suppose that isn't an option anymore. Even so they premiere new anime on weekdays still so it could have gone there.

What's Allegro Non Troppo? It's an Italian film from the late-1970's by animator Bruno Bozzetto that is a spoof of Disney's Fantasia, made for adults that has animated segments set to classical music with comical live-action bits wrapped around it. It's not for kids, but is pretty funny for adults. It's maturity level is on the level of Adult Swim's shows, yet higher brow in some ways. It has been released in the US on DVD by HomeVision, a foreign film label.

Big changes across the pond.
According to Cynopsis
In the UK, in an effort to better serve a wide range of kid demos, Turner Broadcasting is making some channel moves. The Toonami channel will change its name to Cartoon Network Too as of May 24, 2007. Cartoon Network Too programming will include the best of Toonami and Cartoon Network favorites. Making the shift to a 24/7 preschool channel is Cartoonito, currently a preschool day part (6a-3p) on Cartoon Network Too. Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Boomerang +1 will stay put, and all of the channels are expected to get a new look over the course of this year.
IIRC Toonami's name has been picked up by Channel 5. So does that mean Toonami will now be a block on that network and Toonami will no longer officially be a part of Cartoon Network broadcasting in the UK? Interesting. On the bright side the Toonami channel wont be dragging the Toonami brand down anymore as well it doesn't exist. Hopefully good things will come of that but we'll have to wait and see.

Why the US doesn't get these treatments as the international?. They own more shows than Nick and Disney combined!!!!!
Because the US television market is much much different than international TV markets.

Oh, you got a good point there........but that's still good that UK still gets good old shows on Boomerang, while the US version is not even availiable to all cable systems and we get new crappy shows sooner, no Powerpuff Girls Z! Turner owns all those shows, even The Simpsons in the Philippones. Nickelodeon just own the same shows like the US, if not, different versions of shows, because CN Worldwide is more availiable than Nick, even though Nick started waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before CN. Cartoonio gets its own channel. Turner has no plans about making US version networks of POGO TV or Cartoonio. That SUCKS for U.S. UK is smartwise, USA Media sucks! I should just stop. LOL:D

- On CN Japan, Spider-Man and Teen Titans are part of the Toonami lineup on weekdays. IGPX, Ulysses 31, and Dandoh are still on Toonami, only on Sundays. I think their Toonami needs more shows to air.
- On CN Latin America, 90 minutes of Samurai X is airing on their Toonami block. Ranma 1/2 is gone off the block. Ben 10 is gone as well and Zatch Bell has replaced it in its slot. That hour of Pokemon is still going strong.
- ON CN Australia, there is the Dragonball Hour(DB and DBZ) at 6 AM on weekdays. TMNT: FF is on a 7 AM on weekdays. Naruto has a couple timeslots on CN, including one in primetime( 9 PM). Alot of the action shows that would normally air on Toonami are scattered throughout the day.
There is a new show on there called Planet: Sketch(hey Sketch got his own show:anime:). It looks like a preschool show.
- On CN India, Di-Gata Defenders join their Toonami block. Also, two episodes of One Piece airs on Sundays at 8 AM.
I wonder when the international CN's will adopt the new Toonami look?

Well, I am going to the feedback and telling them. Yet, I am giving an Ed Edd n Eddy news so if you mind.
Why the hell would they train under Shredder?
I hear that Splinter guy is a much better sensei.
Whoops, typo. :o
I prefer Shredder any time of the day, anyway. Hmmm... guy with lots of knives attached to his hands who could (literally) rip you to shreds, or a giant rat? Not a hard decision.

Alright, here are some news from the international CN's:
Cartoon Network Japan
- Starting yesterday, Tom and Jerry Tales airs every Saturday and Sunday at 6:30-7:00 pm and repeats at 3:30-4:00 am.
-Starting June 12th, The Pink Panther Show comes to CN Japan. It will air Monday-Friday from 4:30-5:00 am and 6:30-7:00 pm.
- On the Cartoon Theater front, two Tom and Jerry movies,(T&J: The Magic Ring and T&J: The Movie), Babar the Movie, Thomas and the Magic Railroad, and Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo will air. I can't tell if Thomas and the Magic Railroad is a mix of animation and live-action. I believe this is the CN Japan premiere of Trouble in Tokyo.
- On Toonami, Teen Titans and Transformers are airing Monday-Friday from 4-5 pm. I can't tell which Transformers show it is. The Sunday schedule is the same as before.
- The Bugs Bunny Show returns to Saturdays.
- There is this show called, "Gururi! World Tour" which shows shorts from European countries. That airs on Saturdays.
- On Cartoon Network Midnight, they are airing the Tomoyasu Murata Collection 2. They look like claymation works.
Overall: I must say that CN Japan has a pretty good lineup. Their Toonami needs some new shows, but the rest of the schedule is pretty good.
Cartoon Network India
- Johnny Test airs Monday-Saturday at 10:30 am.
- What's New Scooby-Doo will air Mon-Sat at 2 pm.
- Winx Club will air Mon-Sat at 3:30 pm.
-One Piece still has an hour on Sundays at 8 am.
- Pokemon: Master Quest joins the Toonami block. They join Dragonball Z and Justrisers.
Overall: Eh, not a very good schedule, IMO. The network is mostly dominated by CN originals and it's not even diverse compared to here.
Cartoon Network Australia
No changes from before. The lineup remains the same.
Cartoon Network Philippines
- Boy, their Toonami lineup is certainly different from a couple months back. Power Rangers: S.P.D. and Masked Rider Blade join the new Fantastic Four series. However, the block airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 8-9 am and repeats at 7-8 pm. Right now, the block is all live-action. I know Sketch would hate that.
Cartoon Network Taiwan
- School Rumble joins the network at 7:30 pm. I must say, CN Taiwan's schedule is very anime-heavy(with Sgt. Frog as one of the shows).
Cartoon Network Latin America
- On the CN:LA front, One Piece joins the lineup, starting at 11:30 pm. I just realized that Toonami starts at midnight so, Naruto, One Piece, and Zatch Bell are not part of the Toonami lineup.:( That 90 minutes of Samurai X is still there as well as the hour of Pokemon.
Sketch
06-03-2007, 06:16 PM
One Piece was on CN LA before. It probably just took a break. They dub is adapted from 4kids but it uses the original ED at the end with 4kids credits overlaying it. Kinda odd...
All... live... action... TOONami? Ugh. It's got TOON in the name for pete's sake.
Fantastic Four will be airing Saturday mornings on CN Australia. Seems most CN's have FF. It'll probably be on Japanese Toonami in due time.

I should mention that there is a CN Korea and a CN Asia for other Asian countries(like Vietnam etc.). However, I can't get Korea's schedule due to it being in Korean and CN Asia isn't that much different from Philippines(except their Toonami has X-Men Evolution and some other show I don't remember at this point).
Also, CN Mexico is a little bit different from CN: LA. Ben 10, Robotboy, and Teen Titans are on the Toonami lineup. Naruto is on their block and Inuyasha and that hour of Pokemon is still there.

It's a good thing that there isn't a drinking game in which every time you needlessly, pointlessly, stupidly interject Toei into a discussion where it has absolutely no place, everyone takes a shot, because alcohol poisoning cases would be through the roof. Honestly, it's beyond "old" and getting into "annoying enough that you really need to take a step back and STOP IT."

I'm pretty sure The Batman already aired on Toonami Japan. So it must be hyping for a new batch of episodes.
Dunno about Phillipines Merlin but I do recall CN India aired Digimon at one point or another and it was indeed on Toonami.
Looks like Madman and Adult Swim are "teaming up" in Australia to bring new episodes of Inuyasha along with the AU premieres of Bleach and Eureka seveN (sound familar? Yes it's the pre-Trinity Blood annoucement anime pick-up list Adult Swim presented at their upfront last year). It probably comes as no surprise that these also all air on Bionix on YTV in Canada. It seems this anime block will be 10:30-12:30AM like the current Adult Swim action block has been so I don't really see what the difference is other than it's airing new content but maybe they'll have Madman tie-ins in the bumpers or something. If they keep the current pre and post AS shows then Dragonball will air at 10PM (I think) and Naruto will air at 12:30AM. Making 3 solids hours of very watchable anime goodness. Now if we could only get that on CN US today.

Since it's July, it's time to see what is up with the CN's around the world:
CN Japan
- CN Japan will air a brand new episode of Kids Next Door on July 20th(Friday) at 11:30 am. It's episode 55: Operation: D.I.A.P.E.R.
- Starting today, a new show called Capelito 2 is airing M-F at 7:40 am. It also airs Saturday and Sunday at 9:40 am.
- Starting July 6th at midnight-1 am on their Cartoon Network Midnight block, Season 2 of Creature Comforts will air. Here in the U.S., Season 1 airs on CBS. I wonder if CN US will pick it up. It certainly wouldn't hurt.
- Starting July 4th, Atomic Betty comes to CN Japan. It will air M-F from 5:30-6 am and repeat at 5 pm.
-The Toonami block still has the same shows on their as before.
CN India
- It took them 7 years, but CN India finally got the Boomerang block. It starts July 2nd and the block airs from 9 pm-11 pm. The shows airing on the block are Tom and Jerry, The Popeye Show, Scooby-Doo, and Johnny Bravo. I don't know how Johnny Bravo is old enough to be on the block, but whatever.
- Toonami India continues to be the worst Toonami in the world, with only Justirisers airing on Monday at 6 pm and Sazer X airing Tuesday-Saturday at 6 pm. Both are live-action. It's weird, because Toonami India has the rights to Dragonball, One Piece, Ultimate Muscle, and Pokemon and you would think to put them on the block.
CN Taiwan
- CN Taiwan is still a mix between American shows and anime. Keroro is still airing and Azumanga Daioh and Moon Phase are airing on the network now.
CN Philippines
- Their Toonami continues to be close behind in terms of the worst in the world, with Power Rangers S.P.D. and Masked Rider Blade as the only shows on the block.
- On July 8th, from 8 pm-12 am, a marathon of The Simpsons episodes are being played.
CN Latin America
- On the Toonami front, CN Latin America continues to be one of the best in the world. One of the DBZ movies is airing tomorrow from midnight to 12:30 am. It goes back to DBZ episodes the next day. Gone is the 90 minutes of Samurai X. Inuyasha returns at 2 am(hey, just like here:anime:), and it finally seems the programmers realized that Naruto fits the Toonami block. While the 10:30 pm showing of Naruto is still there(hey just like here again:anime:), it also airs a 12:30 am. There is also a 2:30 am showing on Monday, but it's replaced by Rave Master the next day. Transformers Energon and Zoids Fuzors are on the block.
And last but not least, the hour of Pokemon is still going. Even after numerous schedule changes, this hasn't changed one bit. I guess kids love their Pokemon at 3 am. I think Sketch wouldn't mind Latin America's Toonami at all. The downside is One Piece is still not on the block yet. It airs at 11:30 pm, but that's not Toonami yet.
CN Australia
-Their schedule seems to be the same, except that Pokemon: Battle Frontier is airing on Saturdays at 8:30 am.
- On their Adult Swim, Bleach and Trinity Blood is airing. I guess they felt Bleach suited the AS block more, Sketch.;)
CN UK
- I usually let someone else handle CN UK's schedule because I can't seem to find it on their website, but starting May 8th, Pokemon: Battle Frontier will air at 7 PM.

It depends on the kid markets around the world. For example in the UK, I believe Boomerang UK is one of the highest rated kid networks, followed closely by CN UK. It's quite different here.

Sure Mugen, AS got Bleach in Australia and it's not the least bit surprising. As you mentioned they aired Gundam SEED on AS in Australia. AS Australia also aired FMA, Inuyasha and Initial D so a teen targeted shounen is even more common for them than for our Adult Swim. If anything the AS Australia is practically a weekday night version of Bionix. Both have access to Inuyasha, Gundam SEED, GitS: SAC, Eureka seveN, FMA and Bleach. And I'll bet they'll keep airing the same kinds of shows. To tell you the truth I was almost surprised AS AU didn't get Naruto but it seems most international venues are ending up with Viz's edited Naruto rather than the uncut one so putting it on AS AU would have been pretty silly if they could air it in the daytime as they have.

Huh. That block must've started after I left the country. I'll tell you one thing, judging from the programming, that is definitely not "Adult Swim".
And Atomic Betty has aired there before. CN Japan rotates their programming and they usually bring back a show they haven't aired in a while at least every month.

- New episodes of The Batman air on Toonami on August 16th. They air every Monday-Friday from 4-4:30 pm. and repeat at 2-2:30 am.
- The Toonami block that was on Sunday is gone. Right now, the block airs from Monday-Friday for one hour with The Batman and Season 3 of Transformers.
- Sheeep begins August 4th and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 am and repeats at 2:30-2:45 pm.
- Mustang Mama Football Fever airs August 11th and the 25th at 11 am-12 pm and 9:30-10:30 pm.
- Kimba the White Lion is airing along with the Jetsons and the 1967 Fantastic Four series on Boomerang.
CN India
- Toonami continues to be a joke over there, with Sazer X(live-action show) as the only show on the block.
- CN India has a new block called Saturday Night Triple Up. From 9 pm-12 am, the block airs double episodes of their action shows. Di-Gata Defenders, Duel Masters, and Ultimate Muscle are part of this block.
- Dragonball Z airs every Monday-Saturday at 5:30 pm and repeats at 8:30 pm. I don't know if these are new episodes or repeats.
- One Piece still airs double episodes on Sundays from 8-9 am.
CN Taiwan
- On CN Taiwan, there is a new block called Happy Happy. From 7-8 pm(and repeats at 10-11), School Rumble and the third season of Sgt. Frog air.
- CN Taiwan continues to be anime-heavy.
- It seems Sgt. Frog is their Naruto, as Sgt. Frog has taken up many spots on the schedule.
CN Philippines
- Iggy Arbuckle is a new show that started July 14th.
- Their Toonami continues to be bad, with Power Rangers S.P.D. and Masked Rider Blade only airing on the block.
CN Latin America
-On the Toonami front, CN Latin America continues to be good, although the lineup isn't the strong one they had a couple months back. DBZ is still airing at midnight. Naruto is at 12:30 am. The 10:30 pm airing is still there. One Piece continues to be denied entry into the block, airing at 11:30 pm. Zoids Fuzors and Transformers Energon air in the 1-2 am time slots. Inuyasha is still there at 2 am. Rave Master is at 2:30 am. That 3 am hour of Pokemon is still going strong.
CN Australia
- Nothing really new on the CN Australia front. There is a MARathon on August 5th from 10:30 pm-1 am.
- With the exception of Black Cat coming to AS AU, their schedule remains the same.
CN Philippines has dropped The Simpsons, as it's nowhere to be found on their schedule.

To be honest, more adverts or changing the channel. I prefer those instead of watching lame music videos of artist i don't like.

Other people might like them, and it's not only Cartoon Network that does this. Artists just want to promote themselves.

If they want to promote, go to MTV and VH1 like they don't get much promotion there and even if they show reality tv now.
I beg the differ, some are starting to complain about it and i can't blame them. Most of the artist they put really suck.

Sorry, I'm late with this, but here it goes:
CN Japan
- Like ChibiGoku mentioned last month, Ben 10 comes to the network. It begins September 13th and airs Monday-Friday from noon and repeats at 8 pm. It also airs Saturday and Sunday at 8 am and repeats at 6 pm. I guess they have lots of faith in the show doing well to be getting so many slots.
- The 1967 Fantastic Four series airs M-F at 10:30 am and repeats at 11:30 pm on the Boomerang block.
- The Toonami block still has The Batman and Transformers Season 3.
CN India
- The Toonami block has Pokemon Advanced, DBZ, Sazer X and another repeat of DBZ. At least it's not totally live-action anymore.
- Skatoony, a original cartoon that was made in the UK but is airing in India is airing at 9:30 am on Sundays. It's a quiz show where viewers go against cartoon characters for real prizes.
CN Philipppines
- Their Toonami block is now Xiaolin Showdown and Masker Rider Blade. That's it. Very underwhelming, IMO.
CN Australia
- On their Fridays block, new episodes of Ben 10 air at 5 pm and new episodes of Camp Lazlo air at 5:30 pm.
- Mix Master airs new episodes Monday-Friday at 8 am.
- A mini-marathon of MAR episodes continue to air Sundays from 10:30 pm to 1 am. I guess the show must be doing well to continue to be doing this. It's like our Pokemon mini-marathons on Mondays over here.
CN Latin America
- One Piece continues to air at 11:30 pm while Naruto airs at 10:30 pm. The Toonami is the same schedule as last month. An interesting thing is that you can listen to DBZ in Spanish and Portuguese.

The Toonami block still has The Batman and Transformers Season 3.
I find it hilarious that they're actually airing season 3, since I did make a joke in that "Toonami in 2010" thread a while back that Toonami should air Transformers 2010 for the hell of it in that year.
CN Latin America
With DBZ having finished its run in CNLA, the DBZ hour at 12:00AM is now an hour of Dragon Ball GT, being this the first time this series airs on this network. Like DBZ, the Spanish dub of DBGT is completely uncut, with the original soundtrack intact. Even though I'm not a fan of this series, I have to admit that Opening is awesome.

Also, how is the packaging for Toonami over there?1.- If they did, I didn't see them. But since Toonami is a Primetime/Late Night block down here, it doesn't get advertised much during the daytime.
2.- If you mean the shows that are currently airing, it's still the same as the time of your last post, except with DBGT instead of DBZ.

Whoops, a bit of a slip-up there. The show is really titled The Latest Buzz.

From what I've seen, Boomerang in the US is far better than in the UK. Only problems:
-They've had the same bumpers for 7 years
-Less classics. Shorts like Bernard and Monstories air frequently. Am I the only one who has problems with that?
CN and CN Too in the UK seem far better than CN US because:
-Cartoon Cartoons still air
-The city bumpers are still in use.
By the way, British Geezer, did they ever use the Powerhouse bumps over in the UK?

Cartoon Network UK has picked up the option for a third season of Skatoony, the game show hosted by two animated characters and featuring real kid contestants. Season three will include 13x30 additional episodes, which will bring the total to number of episodes to 39. Season two is slated to debut on Cartoon Network UK tomorrow, September 28, 2007. The network produces the series animation in-house in London, with Talent Television continuing to manage the live action elements of the program. Under a recent deal, Target Entertainment represents the international format rights to the property. Skatoony is also available on Top Up TV Anytime, BT Vision, Sky Anytime, Virgin Central, and Tiscali TV on-demand 310.

I recently got the chance to view the Latin American feeds of CN and Boomerang. CN's programming wasn't much different, but apparently Mucha Lucha is still going strong there. And an interesting note: they're playing 6teen.
Boomerang was playing a whole lot of live-action movies. I tuned in and noticed Air Bud, this movie about a kid befriending a monkey, and there was a commercial for another, but I forget what exactly it was. There were a lot of live-action series, like Radio Free Roscoe, Jumanji[Yes, they made a show out of it], Sleepover Club... Live Action was dominating. Other than the live-action, there was the usual shows. I saw: Pink Panther, The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby Doo, and Garfield, to name a few.
Their Boomerang is a Disney Channel clone. It's almost... sad.

Toonami had some better lineups a couple months back. The block aired Samurai Champloo, and Samurai X(the Sony dub of Rurouni Kenshin) and some other shows,
They also showed Ashita No Nadja, Kaleido Star, and Card Captor Sakura at some points, all of which had unedited dubs.

I got to see CN Latin America when I was in Jamaica. I like how thier lineup has a bigger variety, and some of thier bumpers are interesting and funny. Two of my favorites were a Ben 10 bumper where Ben is about to transform and the monsters inside the watch are complaining about going out and debating which one should go, another one where a cell phone's ring tone was Billy saying "Destory us all!" and the TV got annoyed and jumped up and down on it. XD

CN Australia

CN Latin America
- Aside from DBGT airing on Toonami, Justice League, X-Men Evolution, and Duel Masters are also on the block. One Piece and Naruto are still there. The schedule is definately different compared to a couple months ago.

Sorry for not updating last month. I had completely forgot. Well time to make it up for this month.
CN Japan
- From January 1-3, Star Wars Clone Wars aired. I don't know if that was the first time the shorts ever aired on the network, but here they are.
- In terms of movies, Muppets From Space and Muppets from Manhattan are airing this month. The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland and another airing of Reanimated round out the rest of the movies for the month.
- In terms of Toonami, Spider-Man and Transformers are airing on the afternoon block(4-5 pm). On the night block(2-3 AM), The Batman and Justice League is airing.
CN India
- In a surprise move, Digimon Tamers is airing Monday-Saturday at 4 pm. I always thought of the show being Jetix-exclusive(outside of Japan), but well, I was wrong.
- The Ben 10 movie, Secret of the Omnitrix will air Jan. 26 at 11 AM and 6 PM. No word on what version of the movie will air.
- Looks like Toonami has been dropped from the schedule. CN India joins Australia and the UK in not having a Toonami block.
CN Phillippines
- The Woody Woodpecker show will start airing on Jan. 5th. It will every Saturday and Sunday at noon.
- The Jurassic Park movie will air Jan. 25th at 8 pm. Looks like live-action is slowly influencing the network.
CN Australia
- Eon Kid airs Monday-Friday at 7 AM.
- The Adult Swim block has been dropped, for reasons only the guys at CN Australia knows about. Really sucks for AS Australian fans.
CN Taiwan
- Powerpuff Girls Z is debuting on the network on January 21st. Looks like the show is making its slow rollout on the other CN networks around the world.
CN Latin America
- On the Toonami front, Ben 10 is airing on the midnight slot. 12:30 is Naruto, while from 1-2, is DB and DBZ. A surprise, Trigun, is airing at 2 am while One Piece is on at 2:30. That hour of Pokemon is still there.

Jeez, this is airing very late, or early in the morning, depending on how you want to look at it. There has to be a reason why though... Content problems...? Timeslot issues...?
At anyrate, it looks like two episodes air each week. I guess that episode we saw online was a simple pilot. (There was alos the fact the website lists Opening animation staff, and that episode lacks it... So obviously...) Which means each episode will probably be 24 minutes long.

Pogo, Cartoon Network refrain from playing Hari Puttar promos (http://cartoon-network-news.newslib.com/story/9822-902/)
Turner's kids channels refrain from airing Hari Puttar promo
Story By: ROHINI BHANDARI updated on: 10/09/08
Mumbai: Turner India's kids channels Pogo and Cartoon Network have refrained from running the promos of Mirchi Movies' upcoming film Hari Puttar - A Comedy of Terrors. This action has been taken on the grounds that the movie has an impending court case filed against it by Warner Brothers Studio, over the title of the movie, which sounds similar to Harry Potter.
Pogo and Cartoon Network channels are a part of Turner Broadcasting, which falls under the Time Warner group of companies.
Mirchi Movies COO Munish Purii informs, "As a part of our deal with Britannia, which has a strategic in-film placement in Hari Puttar, Britannia was to spend approximately Rs 10 million in marketing the film across various kids channels. A good portion of these spends were also dedicated to Pogo and Cartoon Network, but now I have been informed by Britannia and T-Series that the two channels are not playing the promos because of the Warner case."
Purii further adds, "The court has not issued an injunction against the release of the film, so I don't know why they are hesitating to play the promos."
When contacted by Businessofcinema.com, Turner International India vice president and deputy general manager - entertainment networks, South Asia Monica Tata said, "As we understand that the matter is currently before the courts, we're unable to comment on it."
Being a movie that is targetted primarily at kids, it is but obvious that the promotions will run full throttle across channels catering to kids. Other kids' channels like the Disney Channel, Toon Disney, Nick and Hungama are running the promos of Hari Puttar.

MY SPY FAMILY DETECTS A SECOND SERIES ON BOOMERANG UK (http://europe.turnerinfo.com/BOOM/UK/home/30_05_08_04.jsp)
MY SPY FAMILY DETECTS A SECOND SERIES ON BOOMERANG
Turner Broadcasting has announced the seven-figure recommission of UK produced live action comedy series My Spy Family, due to commence filming in July 2008.
Aimed at kids aged 6 – 12 and set to air on Boomerang, this second series of 20 x 22 minute episodes continues the co-production partnership between Turner Broadcasting and Kindle Entertainment, the indie which emerged from the closure of ITV Productions, Kids. Decode Enterprises will retain the distribution rights.
Filmed on location in Leeds, the recommission bolsters Turner’s commitment to home grown content following a recent raft of UK commissions including Go and Be a Grown Up for Cartoonito and Skatoony for Cartoon Network.
My Spy Family centres around the Bannon family who, after a lifetime roaming international trouble-spots by jet, helicopter and missile-equipped sports cars, now find themselves squashed together in a house somewhere in the Midlands. None of their training or gadgetry has prepared them for ordinary everyday life. If James Bond married Catwoman, had three kids and bought a semi - this is what life would be like!
Cecilia Persson, VP of Programming, Acquisition and Presentation for Turner Kids says: “My Spy Family has been a focal part of Boomerang's live action strategy since we committed to the genre in September 2007. As we strive to attract a broader audience to the channel, we are especially proud to bring our fans 20 brand new episodes. We are delighted to be working alongside some exceptional British talent, and producing a show that really resonates with British audiences.”
The remaining 13 episodes of series 1 will premiere on Boomerang from March 25th at 5pm. Live action drama also airing on Boomerang includes teen mag sitcom The Latest Buzz, sibling comedy series Life with Derek, and coming in the summer, Blue Water High, a surf school series.
Anne Brogan, Director of Kindle Entertainment adds: “We’re delighted that Turner Broadcasting has greenlit a second series of My Spy Family. It was one of Kindle Entertainment’s first commissions and remains one of our best, and it’s great that it will continue to air to UK audiences. It’s a fantastic series, with an excellent cast and talented production team bringing it to fruition.”
Paul Alexander is the creative talent behind the show and brings a wealth of fantastic writing experience, having written for a range of shows including the hugely popular, My Parents are Aliens, My Family and My Hero.
My Spy Family is produced by Bernard Krichefski and directed by Dominic Macdonald & Tom Poole. Anne Brogan, Connal Orton, Cecilia Persson & Daniel Lennard are executive producers of the show.
Cartoon Network UK must not have gotten the memo. No more live-action series guys! And for those who don't know, in the UK, series has the same meaning as season does here. So it's been picked up for a second season, not a spinoff/continuation series.

Boomerang UK (http://www.boomerangtv.co.uk/index.html) airs just three live action shows: Blue Water High, My Spy Family, and My Life With Derek. I say 'just' because Boomerang LA clobbers it in numbers.
Boomerang LA (http://www.boomerangla.com/spanish/) airs Blue Water High, Cake, Saddle Club, Beakman's World, Darcy's Wild Life, H20, Harry & The Henderson's, Flight 29 Down, The New Flipper Show and several more shows than I care to count (plus, I don't care to research the English names of them). Boomerang LA airs 20+ live-action shows, just for the record. :sad
Why is that sad? Boomerang LA is no longer advertising itself as a classic cartoon channel. It completely rebranded itself a couple years ago.
At least they're not lying to its audience, so do some research before passing judgment.

Yeah, they air a few. But, like Jave said, they aren't a classics channel anymore. They don't advertise themselves as that anymore (for obvious reasons). It's one thing to air some live action movies, but it's a whole different thing when they completely change their image and go against the reason they were created.

They changed their image because before the change, Boomerang LA had the worst reception ever. Barely anyone watched that channel. Boomerang LA is an entirely different type of channel and shouldn't be compared to its foreign counterparts. It just happens to have the same name simply due to legalities.

Taffy Entertainment inks a agreement with Italy's Atlantyca Entertainment publishing division to produce novelty books based on the new 2D flash-animated TV series Hero:108 and targeted to tweens and teens. Slated to debut on TV in 2009, Hero:108 follows the adventures of a group of young defenders out to end the conflict between animals and humans. Hero:108 is a co-production of Mike Young Productions, Gamania Digital Entertainment and Cartoon Network International. Under a previous pact, Taffy and Atlantyca are developing a series of books loosely based on Taffy's animated series Code Lyoko.

So... Looks like we're getting screwed over, again.
Over at TotheZ, someone pointed out that it appears that Taiwan's CartoonNetwork will be airing the PowerPuff Girls special, November 30, 2008. Apparently, Japan may also be airing the special as well, November 18, 2008, although it's marked as "TBA", so we won't know for sure until it airs there.
CartoonNetwork there is also reairing the Short Special, Mizuno Kingdom: PowerPuff Girls as well. This was a short that aired on Mizuno Kingdom, which featured a cross over between the cast. Was made specifically for Japan.
Regardless, both Taiwan and Japan's CN will also be running a marathon. Not sure how many days Taiwan's will be, but the Japan CN will be running two days of PowerPuff Girls November 17 & 18.
I always find it funny how PPG is almost practically ignored here, but everywhere else it gets recognition. Sigh...

Welcome to Toon Zone!
CNUS (http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/) is doing pretty well for itself. They're adding Looney Tunes to the schedule and have got a really great slate of originals going on.

Here, Looney Tunes is on everyday...:p
Lucky. Because of TimeWarner and Turner fighting over monetary issues, we haven't seen Looney Tunes in years, not even on Boomerang...
