This should be a simple task, but I'm having a lot of trouble with it. I got the old refill out easily enough. But, when I put the new refill in it didn't quite go in all the way. It looks like it's an inch short. But, the thing is, it's the exact same size as the old refill. So, I must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions?

How much are rubber refills? Usually I just replace the entire wiper.

How much does that cost? I didn't buy the rubber refills myself. They were already in the trunk when I bought the car.

Getting the old ones out is usually the hard part. Check the old against the new. They come in standard lengths for make and model. If the new ones are longer, they aren't the right ones. I can't see any way of not getting the right size to go in. It's usually just a matter of getting it in all the clips until the catches lock to hold it in place.

Replacing the blade or the blade and frame is usually depending on the make and model. Some do and some don't. The only parts that wear out is the blade and the spring that keeps it to the windscreen.
